I just bought an 06 xstar and was wondering how you guys sac them out! I just had the dealer order me the new fly high system, but that system seems like its alot of weight in the ass end. Its 1600 lbs in the back and 900lbs in the front! Thats on top of the stock system. Is this ok, or should i ad more weight up front? By the way I know this topic must of came up atleast once on here. If you could post the link. Thanks!!!!!

I'm pretty sure there will be some nose bleeds on your boat. Yes, your boat will do fine with that weight. Be careful! It's gonna be one heck of a wake.

Ryan the 07 prop with MCX will do fine, actually great with that set up. They tested the new prop with MCX and the extra ballast last summer and made he decision then to go with that prop for 07 (Message edited by woreout on January 05, 2007)

I weight my Boat(07 metalflake pink x-star; L18)with two large sacs in the back lockers. (one in each) Then two smaller sacs under the front seats + 150lbs of leads in the nose. Also i put 500lbs of Lead under the seats in the back and 150lbs under the passenger seat. I don't use the rear stock ballast at all because i don't like where they are placed in the boat. The wake is really nice and this combo took me years to master.

Did you see the Switch X2 Bubba Stewart got? It was black with silver or grey metal flake. The green should look badass.

Damnit I wish I had known this stuff before I got my Metal Flake '07. I always had reverse yellow and white, but I would have liked a more personal color of metal flake. Curses!

There are alot of metal flake colors that are available. The pink boat took years of begging to get them to even make it. Green should be cool, the Yellow and Black metal flake are really bad and MC won't make a boat with those colors. The pink is really cool but my favorite is still the Canadian Blue.

I run the Fly High system with another 300 of lead up front, and I run the MCX with the same prop you are getting. 06' is the first time I go the MCX and loved it, I ordered it again for my 07'. If you just have 4 or 5 people in the boat it's fine. If you start putting 8 in there you will have to drain a little of the back sacks. But, the wake is unreal, and there is nothing that can even come close to the double ups.

Those pics I posted above are Zane's X-Star, not mine. His boat has the 6.0 in it, but he told me that his next boat will have the MCX and new prop. Listen to the advice already given, you cant go wrong with it.

So this raises a question. With the X-Star weighted like this, the MCX and the 07' prop, does it still get up to speed in a normal amount of time or does it take awhile? Would you guys put this set-up on a little tournament lake or would the X-2 be better suited. Maeghan, I almost did the pink metal flake for my daughters new boat. But, considering she isn't a pro yet, I figured reselling it every year would be tough. Our dealer did show us about 30 extra metal flakes we could have ordered.
