Take it to a dealer its under warranty (maybe), the bolt snapped off and the force bent it. Ask about your warranty I think it is three years.

You're in luck, someone is selling one in the For Sale Forum.

I am pretty sure that is a known defect and it shouldn't matter if it is under warranty or not. Unless of coarse you hit something with it. Were they still making the wedge with bolts holding the foil/plate thing in 05?

Yes they were and also my 06 has them. Should check the bolts every now and then to make sure they a tight.

I think I have enough spare parts to rebuild you one for your boat, how badly messed up is it, what are you missing / need?

I bought a replacement one a few years ago and the bolts sheared off last summer. When I took it to the dealer I was told that the warranty was 1 year on my replacement but that the warranty is 3 years if it was the one originally installed on the boat (by the dealer/factory of course).

Depending on when you bought the boat in 2005 it may still be under warranty....

Does the wedge work well? Never tried one and have heard varied things on it.

sorry to hear about your fricked up wedge, is there a certain point in which the wedge is more likely to break/bend/snap/get fricked up?

Get the floating wedge, the new manual wedge to replace it. You'll love it. Plus if you contact Malibu they'll likely make you whole. The bolt is a known issue for your model year.

Tego - That vid is hilarious, and the Tige one too. Good stuff!!
I second the power wedge replacement, as long as the bracket is he same. The manual is a bitch....

ya, same thing happened to me this year..... ive got an 05 and it only had two bolts in it, but the new one they sent me had three, and it should hold up better

Get with the dealer. They redesigned the bolt design on that one. You can get a replacement one of the redesign. The idea of getting the new floating one would require the new wedge plate also.

Yeah more weight instead of wedge. Get out of the hole better and will save you gas as well
