Since I bought Grants 150 amp alternator when he switched to Nuclear power I had only gotten to test it in the driveway.

After rockin 4 bluetops and maybe 2500watts (all amps were turned down due to not enough time to tune) for 8 hours at Berryessa, I had a bit of trouble. Apparently, my belt was not tight enough and slowly "cooked" itself. A whole lot of smoke and a broken belt later, I was running off of my reserves for the rest of the weekend. (I know I know, why no spare? I could have rebuilt my boat but that must have gotten put in a different box)

Now, I am back in business and better than ever.

Couple rod ends (apparently no one knows what a heim joint is) some serious researching on grainger and mcmaster carr, three trips to orchard and its set.

Here are some photos, just loosen the jam nuts and twist the center rod and it gets tighter. YAY!! no cooked belts!!!
