The people who own the lake house next to me had some friends up who wakeboard and I was talking to one guy and he was talking about how he takes lessons. He was an older guy. He was really trying to promote taking lessons. Ive thought about taking lessons before but wasn't sure if it is worth the money.
I think its best to take a lesson every few weeks or so.... go, get some advice, go home, work on it and get it down, when you need more help go back....
going just for going sake doesn't seem like a good spending of $$$
If you wish to progress rapidly, lessons are the only way to go!! I recommend The Boarding School. You will learn proper technique--body position, handle control, etc. Learning to get more out of your riding by doing less--the proper progression to learn a new trick---These are a few reasons I take lessons at every opportunity. Good Luck
If you get an instructor that is people friendly and can ride himself your good. Some guys just like to get paid to hang out and go for a boat ride. Get one to come in your boat (if you have one) because thats the wake you will be riding behind.
I also agree with joe. when i first started i rode with a bunch of people that have been riding for a long time so it helped and pushed me to progress.
www.southbaywakeboardacademy.com Derek Cook is ur head coach and he will make sure you accomplish what you came for. great guy and the camp is out of anderson lake.
Does anybody know what Mike Ferraro charges by the hour? I'm sure (and I've heard) his going rate comes at quite the premium. Guess it's worth it though if you look at the people he's coached...
