So i fell learning a toeside r2r and in an effort to control the fall i tightened up my abs. That made them really sore and here a several weeks later they are still sore. Its not really an all over soreness its just this one specific spot. It has been getting SLOWLY better each day. Anybody else done something like this? I called the doctor and he told me to take ibprofen or however its spelled. Any idea what I did? Should I be taking it easy or streching or doing some easy crunches or what?

Sounds like a partial ab tear. Of course stretching and strength before hand will help prevent this but not much you can do once it is stretched / torn other than rest and analgesics.

Ohh, I recommend naproxen instead of ibuprofen though but both are good.

Yep, I did a number on mine 2 years ago doing a Ski show while getting paid felt a sharp pain in my right lower ab, kept going tho cause it was a job and I dont quit and finally ripped it where I couldnt go anymore. It bruised then when the bruising went down wasnt there anymore. Had a 6 pack now a 5. Never came back cant get surgery on it. It feels really weird doing ab workouts cause my left feels way stronger than the right

The thing that helped mine the most was getting some of the heat strips for your back and putting them on your abs. I pulled/tore my lower two and it was 2 months before they were back to normal again!
