Go with the MC Speakers housings. JL Audio speakers and 6 channel AMP. Might even consider getting 1 set of those speakers with FWD lights

Hope Santa is good to you

NVS or wetsounds if you really want here at 70ft. I think duane(NVS) has a couple of his 8" stuff left. Everyone says these are the hot setup right now.

i second NVS...

NVS1.net and talk to duane or todd.. super nice people...

and they are the loudest and cleanest sounding speakers out there...IMO
heres a pic of the Tyrants on the tower... and i know J-rod can help ya out too...

definately go with the mastercraft tower speakers with JL audio.
they will look like they are a factory option and the JL speakers are some of the best around.

oh yeah i have the MC JL 4 speaker setup and can hear the music clear all the way to 80 feet so 70 feet will be perfect for this setup.

personally i dont like the NVS or wetsounds. yes, they are very loud for the rider but the sound is earpiercing inside the boat and extremely noisy if you are on lakes with homes. you wont be having any happy neighbors

billye, the 4 JL audio setup's I've heard factory from mastercraft are decnt sounding. but they end up getting turned up so loud usually with only factory power that they sound really "tinny" and virtually no mid bass respoonse that is audible over the treble. The wetsounds and NVS definately sound better when they are cranked up IMO. Nto to mention the prison raping you take on the JL setup from mastercraft.

Billy I completely disagree that the NVS are earpiercing in the boat. I had the 808s on my X2 (X1/XStar) for 2 years and the thing I enjoyed about them was the fact they projected sound back towards the rider so you could crank them up and still have a normal conversation in the boat.

The only thing to be careful of was making sure they were turned way down or ATT(enuated) when the rider returned to the boat or someone was standing on the swim platform / sundeck. If cranked they would flat out hurt your ears.

I agree the NVS' are tight but I didn't like they way the looked. I ended up going with the FUSIONS, best of both worlds IMO.

I think the skylons look sweet. They have pro audio like nvs but look much better imo. They look like normal bullet tower speakers.

If you don't like the look of NVS or wetsounds then try jamie at bullet speakers he comes highly recomended and also carries the wetsounds stuff. Linky

If you are going to stick with the stock Mastercraft cans, get some Polk Momo splits, sound and look great

I have the wetsounds threesome (1 485 and pair of Pro 80s) and they are the loudest clearest speakers I have ever been behind. If I had a 200 foot rope I would be able to hear the music. To address what you are looking for is different. You don't have or want to spend a lot so all of the talk about wetsounds and NVS would be out. You will spend $2500 for a quality amp and the speaker set up. I would keep looking at what is for sale here on this site and e-bay and you might find a killer deal. One of the best deals new are the Pro 80's by wetsounds. They are about $900 and if you find a used amp you can do a killer tower set up for uner $1200. Good luck!
