My girlfriend is gonna be moving in august to work for General Mills in Minneapolis. So that means i'm gonna be there quite often for a while and possibly move there. So what is the wakeboard scene like and how far do you have to travel from Minneapolis for decent water.

Jon. The guy I ride with a lot, works for General Mills...it is less than 2 miles from my place (i live on a lake). He just keeps everything in his car and comes over straight from work. He is actually moving away from here, to Scottsdale, to take a different position within GM. We ride about 3-5 times a week. Hit me up when you're getting close to moving here. I got a 2000 xstar.

Thats good to hear that there are lakes close that are good to ride on. I should be over there helping her move in and get situated for a few weeks before i start classes. I'll tell you and hopefully we can ride.

there are almost 12,000 lakes in MN.....general mills is not to far from lake minnetonka, but you are better off finding something more low key for boarding, but you will have no trouble finding water thats for sure...we just need some better weather

don't they call that place "the land of 10,000 lakes"??? there must be water everywhere!

i've always wondered how long the "trunks only" season really is up there....it's a shame to have all that water and no way to warm it up!

Anyone near Maple Grove, MN that rides in the evenings during the week? I might be able to make early mornings on Wednesdays or Thursdays too.

Going to be working there for a few weeks this summer.
