First off everyone is ok

did you ever wonder how a Centurion would look if it flew off the trailer hit a concrete median flew over the median and into the other 4 lanes of traffic?

Wow...... glad everyone is ok and quite a scene.... crazy.... I would be crying like a little school girl.....

It answer the age old question of do you check on your boat first or make sure everyone is ok?

WOW! I am glad everyone is OK.

Can you imagine being in the other lane of traffic and watching the boat fly over the median!!

Amazing no one was hurt.

It was strapped, but I don't think anything would've held that boat on.

Glad to see they're all okay.

The story about the dealer is a story that lots of retailers should read and take to heart. They're dealer went WAY out of the way to help them out. That's going the extra mile.

Wow, glad nobody got hurt, that could have been much worse! Hopefully insurance will buy you a new boat!

not to nit-pick but the straps are there to keep the trailer under the boat. as the pics show, they aren't going to keep the boat on the trailer when 'it' really hits the fan like that.

i'd like to see some pics of the hull bottom.

just curious, how fast were each of the cars going when the accident occurred? It said the Cadillac was traveling at a high rate of speed but is that 50 mph or 90 mph? You really have to be haulin to send a boat skidding for that distance and go over a median.

Glad everyone is okay. What a pain that's going to be getting a new truck and boat. Hopefully the insurance companies will make it as easy as possible.

Thats a pretty gnarly wreck. I'm glad that Ken, Andrea and everyone else involved made it out ok. That situation could have gone south in a hurry.

I'm surprised I'm just hearing about it. A couple that I ride with passed them on saturday. I'm now guessing just shortly before the accident.

Bill - that stretch of interstate, in fact just about anywhere on 45 around Houston is filled with people and the majority are in a "rush".

Nick, what was the story behind those pics?
Old     (wwc)      Join Date: May 2009       02-10-2010, 12:10 PM Reply
Well my buddy and I were heading to a local lake this time of year last year. We were merging on to a single lane bridge. it was in the afternoon so traffic was thick. When we were merging he fined it to get in front of a car and next thing we know traffic was a dead stop on the bridge! He slamed on the breaks and came inches from the car stoped. I felt the truck jerk right when he hit the breaks. When we came to a stop I looked back to see the bow of the boat in the bed of the truck.

the problem was the trailer was not made for the boat. There was only the ratchet where the boat meets the front of the trailer and no straps.
Now he has the bull horns on the front of the trailer and now uses straps.
