alot of ppl have told me to go on a tramp to learn new grabs and spins and everything but does it really work?

It isn't going to teach you to edge or release from the wake properly, but it will help you get comfortable once you are in the air.

yes, they help a ton with getting you comfortable. Especially with inverts.

I think training on the tramp helps a lot. I wouldn't say so much for grabs, but for spins or anything with a handle pass it helps significantly. Handle passes are usually the most awkward part of learning your first spins. A trampoline is a good place to familiarize yourself with handle passes.

Watch the "book" all their tricks are shown on the tramp, my son is on his almost every day, it helps a lot.

im on my at least once a day.

i practice all my inverts and spins, it build muscle memory, and is a great way to practice if you have an anti water injury such as a busted ear drum

Helped me so much with my spins and flips, helps get you used to whats going to happen in the air, helped me realize i was going off axis on spins, and helps alot with inverts as well, and even with just being in the air doing nothing!

Thousands?

I Got A Good One For $140 At Walmart.

zach H.- Craigslist.com, you can get them for free sometimes
Old    murrayair            06-06-2007, 11:39 PM Reply
I also got the $140 one from walmart. The springs started breaking after about a year. I found a place that will sell me high quality replacements for about $120, but I would have rather just paid a few hundred more in the first place.

I learned Monday night, that if you start a tantrum to close to the edge, the trampoline will kick you back instead of up, and you will land flat on your back in the dirt.

Ouch. I'm a little sore this week.
Old     (sloshake)      Join Date: Mar 2003       06-07-2007, 9:39 AM Reply
HA. Yea, that's why i've been chicken on trampoline training. And the thought of going inverted and not verting (can i use it like that? really?) back in time.
Old     (eubanks01)      Join Date: Jun 2001       06-07-2007, 10:02 AM Reply
Yeah, the biggest mistake is thinking you need to get close to one side to do a flip because you'll have more landing room behind you for a backflip. You will get bucked backwards and that isn't a good thing!
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       06-07-2007, 10:35 AM Reply
Yep...and I knew that.

I was on a roll...flip, land, right into another flip kinda thing. I committed, and in the air, I knew I was doomed. I ouched down on the opposite side of the trampoline just inches from the springs. The problem was I landed on my heels. This shot me straight off onto the ground. My ace is killin me.

Get a net, they may look stupid, but they have saved my A$$ so many times
Old     (bbking)      Join Date: Dec 2006       06-07-2007, 10:50 AM Reply
its a shame, if you lived by me zach i'd give you ours for free, it has a small tear but its a really nice trampoline, you may want to get rid of the netting but its still nice
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       06-07-2007, 10:52 AM Reply
I had the netting. It fell apart after a few years.
Old     (dlwsrider)      Join Date: Apr 2007       06-07-2007, 10:53 AM Reply
when mine falls down, i put it back up.

If i get any injuries i want it to be from the water, not the trampoline haha

tramps are a good place to start but if you are not careful thet hurt. i fractured my neck on ours doing a tantrum to blind. i was flipping just fine for a long time an then it just happens you get too cocky and don't rotate fully

I use my tramp every night but I kind of want to get a tramp board but they won't e-mail me back. Any one have one?
Old     (wakemed)      Join Date: Jun 2007       06-07-2007, 3:24 PM Reply
I did manage to get one early last year. It rocks! Feels exactly like a Wakeboard on the Tramp.
I hear initial demand was so big they are on backorder. Best Bet is patience, and by the way, I feel safer on the GURU, than on my feet or anything else around. If you remember an article on Amber wing, GURU is how she learned her 720!

Check out GURUTRAMPBOARDS.COM Then go to Media For footage.

Chad.

I e-mailed Tim from guru twice since that's the only way to get a hold of them. I never got any response.

seems like the Guru would be a real good way to learn how to poke out your grabs...

i can do moby dicks, bs 720,fs 720, indy glides, 313s, slim chances, dum dums, pete roses and crow mobes all on a tramp normaly. I use a guru tramp board every thursday. its so hard all i can do is tantrums to blind and off axis 360s. in saying that it is so much like behind the boat and alot more realistic but i found that unless you get a double up off your mates you wont get enough air to do advanced tricks

Tim e-mailed me tonight
even said that he would e-mail me again when the new boards are out
seems to be a stand up guy!

I've been thinkin about glueing some shoes to an old LF 132 and getting on my friends tramp. He finally called me a *&^% enough times that I can nail a backflip every time, so next is the board.

Anybody have problems with the board cutting up the tramp?
Old     (ronnyboy27)      Join Date: Nov 2005       06-10-2007, 4:29 PM Reply
I think that that is why the guru boards have come out.
