Pleasanton Boat Show

How was the show? i tried to make it out .. im going to try and go this weekend. I heard it ended up being a great show. I guess spencers slide show was awesome. Does anyone have any pictures?

Spencer did a slide show, (photo slides) at Tommy T's on sat it was awsome, sucks for you if you missed it. The guy has talent for days. He is talking about doing another at CIE Spring Ride. Try and make that one for sure.

We actually liked the slide show much better than the Gabe Lucas video.
That slide show was very well put together.

Slide show and the party were awesome. Can't say much about the video...was too busy partying to pay much attention. Save the real viewing for whent the DVD is out. Like the other thread says...Randall and Ricky are a couple real friendly down to earth dudes and it was awesome to meet and party with them.

Boat show sucked. Save your parking, entrance, and snack money and go buy a couple mags and vids for a rainy day instead.

I saw this slideshow on the hypoxic website. www.hypoxic4u.com Is that the slideshow they played at the premier?

Yeah, that's it. But it'll look MUCH better if you see it on a TV. Compression = crappy pictures.

How do those speakers sound on the rear of that Epic wakeboat? Has anyone herd one in the water?

Haha LOL it does look like the Mastercraft backwards..Lame...There were some sick boats there and definitely out of my budget ill tell you that! was there a lot of riders there?

How are they sitting those mastercrafts and nautiques right on the floor? Did they take off the rudder, shaft and strut?

Okay so i keep hearing about this crazy slide show that spencer put on....and i guess there was a bunch of photographers there snapping away so where is the exciting photos?
oh yeah and how can a average person afford these boats? i guess we keep on dreaming!

I wasn't at the show Joe, but saw the vid and it is pretty sick! Nice work;)

Joe: We saw the video - it was awesome. It was playing in the orange van down by the Epic boat. It was a bit of a bummer that the Epic boat was down in big ship and RV country. There was no real booth - just the boat and van.

Joe, I missed the video, but I saw the Hoffman sisters hanging out on Sunday. How come they wouldn't let me go inside and check out the Epic? I thought that's what the boat show was for??? He simply said No, you can't climb in.

We were there today and nobody was at the van so we didn't try either. No step up to lean inside without using the trailer. Wasn't sure what's up ?

I was just getting used to the tower on the Wakecraft, and then they went and found a fuglier tower. That Wakecraft looks terrible.

im not a fan of the aluminum tower myself and that is my booth at the show. we decided to put an aluminum tower on one to reduce the price . we wil also offer the " standard style" as well. Our composite tower although, strange at first is awesome. No noise, flex or visiblility issues. Ive often offered and few have taken me up on it, come ride it for yourself. ive got a private lake to to use with glassy water all winter long. i dont care if you are in the market for a boat , i just like to take people out and ride it.

Do you guys think 55900 is high? I realize Wakecraft is new on the market, but its not manfactured by some guy who thought to himself " i think i'll build a boat today". Dave Telling has decades of boat building experience. Find me a boat that is loaded with perfect pass, heater, shower, 1950 watt stereo, dual batteries, 1200 ballast, led lighting, swivel racks, 390 hp motor,side exhuast, bimini top, 2 covers, tandem trailer with 20"s and more for that price.plus first 20 hr maintenance free.

anybody coming to the show, stop by the booth. come look at the boats, climb in and check it out. i will be glad to show you all the neat stuff reagardless if your in the market or not. i love talking about boats and watersports. I'll be there all weekend including today. im here right now! i have beer too!

it's hard to get people to come out to you. you need to do some sort of boat demo day where people go. it's less intimidating when you're in their home lake. in california, that would be shasta, the delta, don pedro, oroville, castaic, elsinore, san vicente. lake sammammish in washington. bartlett lake in arizona.

i'm not criticizing. just a thought to help you out. also, your boat got good reviews in wakeboarding mag's boat buyer's guide. and the wake pic looks good! mag reviews is one thing (very helpful, mind you), but you need to have people experience it first hand.

Beer?

Wakecraft will be there. Represented by a dealer in havasu. I will probably shoot down there on the first Saturday to check it out.

Dave, did I hear you say beer? how about tonight at the steak house?

Rod, FYI I'm at the Portland Boat show with 3 ZR6 boats, one of which has the latest and greatest Wakecraft has to offer. Inlaid Carbon Fiber option, ported and back lit sub, the new spoiler base and all the features that make this boat so amazing. We have had our local Master Craft Dealer in our booth twice and on the latest occasion he brought a Rep from Master Craft. They were all over these boats and could not find anything negative to say about the boats. In fact, Mark said, “I like the new innovations and the aggressive lines”. Parker from Master Craft said "I applaud David on his creation, this is an amazing boat". We've had people all over these boats and they're loving it.

I can say the ZR6 is the noisiest thing I have ever been in. The side exhaust above the water line was deafening. Could not talk from observer seat to back seat. Fit still needs work. The upholstery on the seat back in the bow is all wrinkled because it cant make the bend. The carbon fiber inlays are all wrinkled so they don't look good at all. Wake was alright

wakecraft is a joke, I don't expect them to be around very long. Poor fit and finish, bow is to small. Ripped off tower with a goofy looking bimini.

Want to make a bet Nate? You never took a close look or took a ride. I know, I was at the booth all week. We'll keep it friendly, next year at the boat show if my dealership is there representing Wakecraft , you can stop by and hand me $20. If Wakecraft is not there, ill send you $20.. How about it????

yeah joe, the bet idea is silly, but i do believe in the product . you will find that our owners do as well. thanks for the tip on the demo rides. I like your idea and I will plan something at Bullards Bar and the delta when the weather warms up.

Like I mentioned before, until the suns comes back out, i have a great site to use where the water stays a bit warmer, always glassy and you can warm up on the dock between runs. Boats and watersports are my passion. I really dont care if your buying a boat or not. come on out try the boat. i value an opinion based on actual use.

ben you are right that the boat can be loud. however im not sure who's boat you rode on, but the boat can be ordered with mufflers. i like the sound of mine though!!

rod, mufflers would help. The boat has some good features if you do all your own wrenching. Kind of makes since isnt Davids background from the service side? I think the boat has a place in the market as long as they keep it priced right. What is the time frame to see the bigger version of this boat that I heard about?

the 24' boat will be out in 09. the next model we will see is a direct drive crossover model. it will be at the Sac boat show.

i think it looks kind of cool, def. different looking and i like that...but i'm just a young punk...

what's the wake look like? what's it comparable too?

all these boats seem pretty sick ... is wakeworld or anyone going to put up pictures of all the boats or the whole event? so we can all see what boats are out there...and of course the activities that were held there haha

The only way that I can sum up the "Chopper Boats" is with the following conversation that actually happened.

Background:

I was walking out of the show with my Malibu and Sanger brochures when I stopped to look at the brochures at the Chopper Boats display.

Quickly I heard

"This is the best boat on de market right now. Best price, Best value, best boat"

I turned to my right and saw what seemed to be a used car salesman.

Trying to get a feel for the boat I asked

"Well, what's the wake like? Is it rampy like a Malibu, or is it more Lippy like a Nautique?"

To which our fearless salesperson answered

"The wake? The wake is uh, pretty good."

I had to walk away at this point!

Rod, not to get in a pissing match but I have seen the wakecraft boat up close in person countless times. Both at the p-town show and sac. I have also been inside it. I remember the salesmen showing me the amazing snap on bimini.

Since you feel so confident in the boat why don't you reveal how many have been sold. Not demo boats, actual boats in the market. Also I'd like to know what the highest hour boat in production with pictures. I wonder how all that CF is holding up in the sun. What happens the first time someone slides a board around the back of your deck?

Don't feel bad I had the same discussion with EPIC boats. I asked him what was the most hours any boats in production has. He responded with we have a boat in the 200 almost 300 hour range. I said come find me when it has a thousand, then we will see how it held up.

Ditch the crappy CF jobs put a real tower on it, make the bow bigger so an adult can fit in it, put through the transom exhaust and then come find me.

okay, there has been about 35 or so sold since the first one hit the market on Sep 06.( i dont have the exact # , im not the manufacturer). i dont have pics of all of them but here are some.

i believe the highest hour boats so far have around 250 hrs. one boat in Canada and the rental boat at bullards bar res. obviously there arent any 1000hrs boats yet since most aren t even a year old . my boat has 88 problem free hrs. I persoanlly like the CF tower, Ive had three other boats with " real towers" and they all rattle,flex and obstruct visibilty. but to each his own. we will offer the " real towers" as well. i will have a boat at the Sac show with one.

if you want to see what it holds up like in a few years with higher hours, i'll be happy to show you.

That's the ugliest f'ing boat I've ever seen.

dude i said it before and i will say it again. put titan 111 on it and it will look sharp.

you know i have to say i think the boat has interesting lines but different, and i like it. think about all the other companies that had some ugly ass boats to start out with, they just need to work out some bugs, make a 23 with an ass load of ballest more bow room and different tower and your in buisness.
