Hey All-

Just started trying to wake surf but cant seem to keep up my speed on the board. As soon as it feels like I'm riding the wave I let go of the rope and fall out of the curl. Any suggestions? Stance? Ballast? Rope Length? Thanks !

Try to hook up with someone that knows how to surf already and have them check out your set up. There are so many variables that if you are new you may not know what's wrong.

The bigger the wave the better the ride. Smaller people have an advantage too. Big dudes squash the wave. Check my profile pic for a decent surf wake.

you need a lot of weight on your front foot at times. the biggest mistake i see people make is that lean back and try to ride it like a wakeboard and you can't do that. you need to be heavy on the front

Don't let go of the rope until you are not using it anymore. Get comfortable while holding the rope slacked before parting with it. Weight on your front foot speeds you up and vice/verse

How fast is your boat going? you might try slowing down the boat. We just tried an undersized board this week. We were able to free ride when we slowed down a few mph.

Bummed I didn't have my camera but I have 6 sacs loaded and my internal ballast filled in my 06 Canturion Avalanche. It must have been a funny sight watching the boat lean so far to one side. Sick wake. 11mph on a Phase 5 Prop wakesurfboard.
