I'm putting together an interview for Darin Shapiro and I wanted to get everybody's input on what questions you'd like to ask him. Let 'em fly...

Your workout, take us through a typical one.

Music, what are you listening to right now?

Who is taller, you or Wee Man?

So how hot was it in the Ewok costume?

If you wer'nt a pro wakeboarder, what do you think you'd be doing?

Top 3 places you've ridden? Why?

Are there actually people in Florida who have a full set of teeth?

Besides you,who do you think is the most intense rider?

More later.......

After all of the years that you've been competing on tour, what motivates you to continue to compete?

Why haven't you taken a road similar to Scott Byerly over the past few years versus still competing on a regular basis?

Do you feel that you still have something to prove to the young up and comers, or are you simply motivated by riding?

Do you hope to transition into a position similar to the one Zane Schwenk has at Mastercraft, or do you have other plans after you're done competing?

Although he can still kill it, he himself has stated that his time in the sport is becoming more limited.
As he heads into the twilight of his prestigous career, what's his most memorable moment (contest run, free ride session, trip, etc) and will he have any regrets when it's all over?

thanks for the clarification. i thought he was on the substance for whatever reason.

When is a mobius needed?

How has your style changed over the years? Is it better now or just different?

Do you ever go back to bungee-bindings (you were one of the last holdouts) just for old times sake?

Do you think the sport is headed in a good direction?

Since you're a surfer, do you enjoy wakesurfing?

How do you pull out of some of those crashes?

Could you beat up Byerly?

Whatever happened to the nickname "the Skud". Did that fade out post Desert Storm?

Shouldn't the Raley really be called the Shapiro, the Skud, or at least the Shapiraley since you did it first? Ever thought of suing Chet Raley over the rights to the name?

I heard from another pro that you got the handle wrapped around your neck once and the rope actually snapped. Is that true?

how much longer do you think it'll take you to nail that triple front?

darin told us first hand about that rope around the neck incident. it happened the day before we showed up at the spot. he was coming off his big slider, started falling forward and ended up under water with his head thru the handle getting pulled further under. said the only thing that saved him was that the rope snapped. his neck was still bruised. pretty scary.

Travis Moye used to be your personal driver and you both operated ride the spot for many years. What was the main reason on why you both went your seperate ways?

Now that you are off the O'Brien team, what are your honest thoughts about zippers on bindings?

How do you feel about the consolidation of the wakeboard industry?

How do you feel about the commercialization of pure rider-driven events like wakestock?

Have you had the opportunity to take your wakeboarding to China and if so how quickly is the sport growing in the far east?

What does it take to keep on top of an industry dominated by young riders?

Do you think wakeboarding will ever be in the summer olympics?

Why have you not had the desire to start your own wakeboard brand?

Have you ever taken steroids at any point in your career?
