wakeboard handles

hey wat is that second small handle in front of the main handle on some wakeboard ropes. wat is it used for?

its used for wrapped moves. the rider puts the handle behind his back so he doesnt have to pass the hande, meaning he can grab the spin longer or add another 180 easily. i think theres a couple done in this video.
