My buddy in Houston just bought a 2003 Malibu LX... I know it's a V-drive and it doesn't have ballast. Is the wake ok on these boats as is? I'm going to be out with him on 4th of July weekend and was curious how big the wake will be. I'm mostly a cable rider and have only ridden behind boats a handful of times.

If it has the wake hull if will throw an awesome wake. If it has the diamond hull it will still throw a good wake but will need more weight. Does it have a wedge? Is it a wakesetter, sunsetter, sunscape, etc...

Need more info. Is it a Response LX, Sportster LX, ..those are more ski type boats-Direct Drives
Or are ya missing a letter and did he get a "VLX"? that's going to give you a little more wake and is a V-drive

Ok...I'm pretty sure it's a sunscape...23ft. I'm just hoping the wake is big enough for some decent rolls and raleys

Diamond hull on a 23 will be decent. Sack the sh*t out of that thing and ride.

Seems a bit over priced to me.

Yup, I would agree, I hope you paid a lot less than that. Hell I would have sold you my 2007 for that price. Granted it's only a 21 footer, but it's a pure wakeboard boat with a decent amount of bling.

Like they said, just weight the crap outta it and it'll be fine.

That's not the actual boat...that's just a picture I found of the one he has.

I don't think we'll have fat sacs...but it should still be fun.

Fill factory ballast, use wedge and invite a bunch of people. It will be completely shredable.
