I want to thank Dave for creating Wakeworld.com

WHO: Mike Dowdy, ya bish

WHAT: Wake to wake switch mute double mobe

(FS Double Cork 1080 mute grab in snowboarding? not to compare the two or anything)

WHEN: 2013

HOW:

By training at OWC

Rumor has is he has already landed double mute mobes off the XL Unit kicker at OWC. Here he is landing it wake to wake...

WHY: The easy answer is cuz it's cool. The hard answer is why Dowdy? Here are two videos that might suggest why he is motivated to be the first to land the trick Raph Derome chased at the Redbull Wake Open. The first video shows how Dowdy and Twelker trained together a while back. If these dudes fed off each other, the second video would show how Twelker pushed Dowdy to practice doubles.

Well if we're jumping on the speculation horse...... I say 2013 will mark the return of Jeremy kovak with a pencilled out 1440!

To be honest, there's a handfull of guys that could land the double roll mobe by the end of the season. It'll be bad ass but trick of the year should be unique.

haha "penciled out 1440"! That's funny and ya I don't see trick of the year being a double at all. Possibly a mobe 10 (Harley already has a 900)? Or hopefully we will see a 1440 finally go down in wakeboarding.

Why has Twelker sprayed out the CWB logo's on his board?
Very 12 Honkey'ish

FYI- The Sprayed over CWB logo was actually a prototype board that Josh was using at the time.
Happy to see Dowdy killing it!

MOTY? My guess: triple flip, or something absurdly creative that Raph comes up with.

Harley just posted 'DTTB' on his fbook wall. Someone's already pointed out that could be Double Tantrum To Blind... That's a pretty rad trick

No doubt it's that. And that it's rad. Now where's the video!?

I really hope they got it on video, but knowing Harley, he will have it consistent by next week.

If Harley stuck a double tantrum to blind W2W that would be HUUGGGEEE! He'd need another half second in the air over what he was getting summer 2012.

Do y'all really think that one of the double roll variations that have already been done will be trick of the year?
Just think about it in this light...

-There have already been countless double flips landed, by countless riders, beginning in the 90's!!! There are hometown cable park heroes that can stomp doubles out there right now.

-There have been at least 5-10 guys who have recently landed something that was "never done before" or "never done before behind boat/cable".

-The flagship boats (X-Star, G23, MXZ, etc...) have made vast improvements, allowing for riders to perform insane tricks...like Dowdy and Harley have been doing for a while. The generation has changed. Do you remember when the pickle fork X-Star had its' debut (I believe '03). That boat paved the way for numerous new tricks to be done. Also Cable, just cable in general is allowing us to push ourselves even further.

-With the amount of new flips landed within the past few months, wouldn't you agree that there will be much more crazy and awe inspiring tricks being performed before the next wake awards???

Most the guys doing doubles are doing them on cable. This thread was pertaining to wake. I do agree with most of your post James, but I wouldn't put it out just yet. Personally I would like to see bigger spins than doubles. More 1260's or atleast another one and with all this talent, when will we see the 1440?

I really hope that we don't see another 12 or 14... They are just so hucked and unstylish. I would rather see a stylish double or something.
