Never been there. Last minute trip, rented a house with 2 other families & taknig 3 boats.
What is there to see or do?
Is surfing a problem there with the popo?
Any good restaurants or bars to check out or should we hang at the pad and party?
Don't expect any good riding this weekend mostly just hanging out unless we get lucky early AM.
Any other thoughts or reccomendations appreciated.

Lake is small and feels very small on weekends. The only place not mentioned above is Drifters Marina; small but friendly. Not open late but 7/11 type store with BBQ food and beer on tap. Place to sit in the shade, fuel, and have a beer.

Ride very very early.

the only lake that I have ever experienced a wake going over the side of a boat. Good luck but I won't be caught on that lake again on a weekend.

This happened on the 4th of July.

There is a killer rope swing across from the resort's shore. tucked away in a little cove.

THe resort will have DJ all weekend. And it has turned out to be a pretty good place to hang out. THere is no way to wake board on big weekends, just party. It is pretty cool because it is one of only a few lakes you can build your house on the water. Check out some of the monster homes that are built past the drifters cove marina.

Surfing is OK. The restaurant at the resort closed so you will either have to drive up the road to copperopolis (5 mins) or go to Jamestown to eat out. Boarding is good until about 10AM then forget about it. We were there a few weeks ago and at 8PM the water was still bad. Go up river to tie up and swim, eat, and party...great place to go. If you have the time, go farther up river to the bend. 3 or 4 really big houses there that look like lodges. There is a huge tempation to bust out the boards and ride that part of the river. Have fun but watch out for crazy tubers. We almost got chopped in half last time by some dumb dumb that was not watching ahead.
