Sick, Congrats. wake looks solid. What speed and length is that?

22mph and I think the rope length was 65'. Since I am still breaking in the engine it was recommended that I do not use ballast.

My wish is to get to break in a boat one day!

Crew? The wake looks not only low, but uneven.

Was this a demo or did you buy it and were riding it for the 1st time? Congrats on the new boat purchase. They can be worked with, the Tomcats . Seems like you have some work ahead of you in terms of refining the experience . Best of luck. It's a well built boat but those photos are not doing it any favors.

Wow! A guy takes his boat out for the first time and you rip on the wake? He already said there was no ballast because of the break in....and being the first time implies there is tweaking to do...sometimes I don't understand this place...sigh

Thats "The Truth's" job. Dont bite. You'll get it all locked in shortly and it will take some time to get it just like you like it man. Congrats!

I personally am pretty tired of The Truth's comments, as they are pretty worthless and show total lack of experience and knowledge. I know he things he is having fun by being annoying, but its getting old really fast.

Mario, your boat is rad and the wake looks great for no ballast. From my experience demoing a 21 Tomcat, the wake is perfectly clean all the way down to about 18 with no ballast. IT is also a lot less sensitive side to side than my SANTE 210 and my shop's X-Star.

Agree with ya Pip a guy can't even come on here to tell everybody about how great it is to be out in his new boat for the first time without getting blasted by someone. Congrats Mario on the new boat my cousin has a F-21 they are amazing boats.

Mario. Congrats! As a long time Tomcat guy I can tell you the wake is perfectly even when it is weighted. Not sure why the pictures show it uneven, but it might be the ballast. I never run mine without ballast.

The wake still looks like a good shape!

Also we normally run more like 75-85' of rope and 23-27 mph

That is the thing about showing anything new to people. Nine of the ten will think it is great, but you'll have the one tool that finds something to knock you. Mario, you seemed stoked, and that is what is important. Wake looks fine, and with the ballast and a bit of tuning, it will be a beast. Good luck and enjoy your new boat and hurry up and get that thing broke in so we can see the pics of it slammed.

My "crew" for this outing was 4 adults and my 2 children. These pics were of me riding behind my Tomcat for the very first time. This is not a demo run. The first 2 pictures are were me coming to speed. I had set the zero off to 18 mph. I want to get some time getting adjusted from getting pulled via a higher tow point. My cousin and B-money liked the wake. They did want to break the engine in faster so we could fill the ballast.

They were riding between 21 and 22 mph. We were tinkering with the zero off while putting time on the engine.

Looks good man. Always nice to get a brand new boat. Good job on not letting people kill the stoke. To many people trying to bring other people down.

Mario, I have been told that you should break in the engine how you are going to use it so if you plan on riding with weight in the boat, then weight her down. I mean I wouldn't be throwing 3000 lbs in it but i would definitely at least fill the ballast for the break in and maybe a sack or two.

The dealer told me not to run ballast during break in. So I will follow the dealer's recommendation. The boat comes with 1800lbs that I am itching to try out.

Ive always broken in my boats with at least 8 hours of cruising at variable speeds - never at one constant speed for more than a few minutes & never past 3/4 throttle.
Not sure if this way of breaking in boats has changed or not. But thats how ive always broken in mine.

The dealer said I could tow a rider, just no ballast. Plus the variable speed thing as well. Here is a video of one of our sets. Maybe a better display of the stock wake.

Congrats Mario, nice boat. I find the differences in what dealers tell folks to be interesting. My dealer told me that the boat was already to break it in. FIrst set behind the X-star was 10 people and full stock ballast. I have never had a problem. I just find it curious that some will tell you to baby it and others will say ride it like you stole it. At any rate, beautiful boat, i am sure it is going to be a great summer.

I love when the dealers say that you have to break in the motor. They all get tested under full power and ballast before they get put on the truck. Not only that, but they are a performance motor. Load it up and go for it, you won't hurt anything.
