priest lake idaho is a very large lake hard to find good water, a beautiful are but rough water. I would try the Pond'oreille river. Always find glass

Well I dont get much of a choice in location. A new familey member ownes a resort there and we are headed up for labor day. Just wondering if it was worth towing the boat 5 hours for or not. Thanks. sounds like ill leave her home.

Priest is awesome, you just have to get up early to get good water. The more north you go on the lake the more rough it gets. If you are down by Kalisbell island, there are cool beaches and a big sand bar to play on. Its nice til about 11, and flat again in the evening.

You can always hunt great water. I ride on Pend'Oreille and I have some great spots for flat water. Have fun at the Priest Lake!

We have been there 3 times this year. The weather is always tricky. the lake is big and storms do come up fast. but the sand bar (north of coolin) and the resorts (cavanaugh's, etc) make it worth it.

My suggestion, is if you have a place to keep the boat on the lake, then take it. if not, then it becomes a little bit of a challenge to get the boat out of the lake if a storm does come in.

Definitely a great place though.

BTW - if you have access to quads or bikes, there are tons of trails that you can ride, especially if the weather looks bad on the lake for a while.

what i have found is that IF there is bad weather in the forecast, it usually only lasts a little while
