I have an '08 X-Star which comes stock with two batteries. I've added a third accessory battery and would like to add a fourth, so I would have one start battery and three additional batteries for the stereo. I don't know off hand what size alternator is on the engine (400hp LY6), but will having this many additional batteries be doing anything negative to the alternator? If so, what size alternator should I be running? I'd hate to have an unreliable alternator since I spend a lot of time at Powell, so reliability is a huge factor.

Thanks a lot for any info!

PS I'm not Ryanxstar, so let's get that out the way right now! Haha

I believe Balmar makes a 140 amp which would be perfect for that setup. It all depends on what you plan on hooking up to those batteries ..
