Olympic lifts are some of the best for what you want. They offer explosive movements from multiple joints. The key is getting full drops on the clean or snatch. Because the clean is easier to learn I would work with that. Then for strength I would be doing squats. Box jumps will also work well.

Work the hamstrings harder than ever, they are usually underdeveloped compared to the quads.
Romanian stiff legged deadlifts, dumbell or smith machine one legged dealifts, bridges on a swiss ball, reverse hyper extentsions, hyper extentsions, back lunge, step ups, back step ups, glute kicks off a swiss ball or a machine, various angle leg curls, sitting, standing,etc..
Make sure you warm them up good before,I like walking backwards on a treadmill at a slight incline at a slow speed(1.5), start slow holding onto the rails, work your way up to long strides, and not holding on to the rails, with extra good posture(eyes look strait ahead, not down). also stretch your quads and hams between sets while your catching your breath.
I do a lot of other stuff specificly for wakeboarding, sorry about my spelling.

Nedge is going in the right direction. Whatever you do if you have not lifted before then get a certified trainer to show proper technique. Your results will be quicker and injury free with a good trainer. There was a guy that also used to jump rope every day for 10 minutes or so claimed it helped with vertical leap. I am not sure if Michael Jordon could jump real high but that was something he would do.
