very impressive! My son is just learning and getting up also. I'm hoping he can go ropeless soon also. Proud Papa's!

how old is your son? mine just turned 7. i think next season he might be ready to start trying to ride by hisself

He's 10. The best tip I can give you for helping him get up is to have him hold the rope with one hand and pull at idle. Then have him reach his other hand behind him and between his legs and push the back of the board down so it will pop up onto his feet. Then grab the rope with both hands and go. What you'll probably find is that he won't be strong enough to push the board with his heels when he's trying to get up. My son rode on his knees without the rope last year to learn the pocket.

My son just turned 7 as well. The hardest part was definately flipping the board up onto his feet to get started, and the kid's shorter board seemed to really help with that. Once he got to where he could do that consistently, he got it down really quick. Below is a video from last weekend that showed how he progressed in one day. My wife edited it and put it to his favorite song to inspire him
