chris with epic boats is using the resin infusion method he used to build his 'better wakeboat' to build 300mpg vehicles as well now. it's pretty cool looking and i was able to snap a few pics at their private launch party. i just thought it was interesting that a technology developed for wakeboarding could have a great application like this.

who knew wakeboarding could possibly change the world?

So the same technology that allows us to sink our boats with 4000lbs of water and burn tens of gallons of gas per day, is also helping us create lightweight/fuel efficient cars!

That is awesome though. I wonder if we will see these things hit the mainstream soon? I remember a post a while back said they were going to cost $20k?

That thing looks like a Bond car...press a button and watch the wings flip out on the side and take off. 300 mpg...I could go to work for 3 weeks on 1 gallon. :-)

you know that the products that contribute to global warming are made by companies that sponsor your events, right?

how much are they planning to try and sell this car for? I could see paying 12-15k because it is pretty small.

Tim thats very generous of you.
I think a Toyta Prius sells for like $26K
I doubt your gonna get somthing that gets 300 MPG
for less than a Prius.

Not a fan of R Stocks but INT as a whole is a great organization.......

If only they could put a 300 MPG motor in a tow boat. Perhaps an Epic?

Hmmmmmn........

Leo, thanks, I missed that. 20k would be reasonable.

Crash safety would be interesting to hear about too.

The motor is a 37HP diesel and like a 12HP electric motor. Doubt that will push an epic!

Ok, guess the 20k pricetag was off. Still not bad at under 30k. When will we start seeing them on the road?

I doubt that rig gets 300mph?

Interesting concept for sure, but a true application on the road... huh uh. We have a smart car dealership just down the road from my work place. Whenever I see them trying to negotiate through traffic around here I cringe. They're as dangerous as a motorcycle with no ability to accelerate to avoid an accident. Your a sitting duck in what amounts to an eggshell.
