I'm new to the sport and I'm having a blast!! It's time to buy a new main line and handle. Any suggestions? I don't understand what it means to have a 55' main line and four 5 foot sections to make a 75' total line length. wouldn't the sections make the line weak?

Nope, the sections are the same type of rope just looped together. They are there so that you can change the rope length for different riders. That is a good thing.

No suggestions, but most of the coated 70-80 foot mainlines are going to be fine. I wouldn't worry too much about brand. As for length, it might depend on your boat. I have a really wide wake so the 80' lines with only 3 take-off sections can only shorten to 70' (w/ the handle) and that is too long for some of the folks on my boat.

The Proline LG rope/handle package seems to be pretty popular. Haven't heard a whole lot of complaints on it except that the handle might tend to sink
