O'neill Womens Flare Comp Vest
Anyone have one of these? You happy with it? Does it float you decent? A friend sent us 3 of these she bought not realizing they were non-cga vests.

I don't ride with a coast guard approved vest on because they are very constricting! I prefer the comp vests it's a lot nicer because you're more flexible and able to move while you ride. I'm not so into the buoy-like floatation device.

My 2 cents....

Like Becky, I ride a non approved vest, but if you're not already used to a comp vest, then my advice is to not buy one! Once you wear a comp vest, you're hooked, and that's it!

They're just not as safe. I believe Shaun Murray rides with a USCGA vest, and it doesn't seem to hold him back. I'm just sayin...

i've been waiting for the funds to get a CGA vest but after i just had this conversation with Grant Roberts last nite before we rode i'm bout to get one ASAP...

a couple of days before he went to NZ he was out riding and fell and his skate thumped him in the head and knocked him out for a second. luckily it was only a second or two after that he came too and was only a few feet below the water and able to swim up and not drown to death. scary chit right there.....}

I have the Flare comp vest and I absolutely love it! I don't like the idea that it is a comp vest, but I won't wear it if I am trying a new trick. I think it does float me better than some of the other comp vests do. But if she is skeptical about a comp vest than don't do it.
