No $$ need be mentioned, but what's the best % off MSRP anyone has done this year? Don't mention $$ or state if you don't want to. Just starting negotiations and need a decent goal.

Anywhere between 10-15% off of MSRP. Keep in mind that unless you have owned a boat before and you'll need at the gear to start vests, boards, Coast Guard equipment and should factor that into the deal. I'd suggest something like 10% over cost...

I just got a 06 VLX qoute $52 OTD with 340 monsoon-bimini-upgraded extreme trailer w/leds-front ballast-power wedge-flip up nav light-chrome glovebox-towing cover-2 pair of popup cleats. I didnt get any stereo-shower or heater. I was curious if this was a good price as well ?

that's a real good price even if it wasn't OTD

Keep in mind prices vary depending upon your location, but at 52K is a good price no doubt.

Sweet ! Im ordering on friday with a may delivery date. I just sold my 01 x-star and test drove a 06 VLX w the Hammerhead and fell in love with it. The nicest boat I've ever driven. I just wish I could afford the HH upgrade- that thing screams.

Ordered my 06 vlx. Titan III tower, 6 titan lights, 2 pairs of titan board racks, 3 outlet heater, shower, bimini top, halogen dock lights, bow ballast, pop up bow lights, chrome pylon, malibu boat cover, depth finder, fibergass swim deck, billet glove box, regal/graphite dash, 2 batteries with pergo switch, power wedge, extreme trailer, undercarriage tire mount with spare tire, turn down exhast pipes, carpet kit insert, 2 pair of cleats and 340 monsoon engine.

Every option except heated driver seat and stereo system.

8.25% tax, Santa Cruz Ca. taxes. DMV fees, freight charges, everything. $61,081.17

Not a great deal, but good considering everything included. I shopped around too. I could of gotten it $600. cheaper @ another dealership, but when it came down to it I felt the cheaper dealership was going to make up the difference some way or another. I felt much more at home at the dealship I went with.

I should mention, before tax, dmv and freight it was $56,258. That 8.25% tax adds up as well.
Hope that helped.

Brian, thanks- that's a huge help. How much will you spend to have a decent sound system put in after market? Are the factory options way overpriced or something?

B.S - The stereo options from the factory are wayyyyy overpriced. I think I was qouted $1000 for the sony cd player and 4 speakers. You can purchase the same equipment for $250. You can have everything prewired from the factory which is nice if you plan on a stereo system selfinstall

Hey Brandon, why no bead color on the pads above the motor?

Rich, I was going to go with the black bead, but didn't like the look it gave on the seats. I thought with the black bead next to the red was good, but black by itself on the driver seat as well as the cabin seats made it look to much black. The speakers, dash, tower, bimini top, board racks, and lights on tower are all black making the bead black made it too much black for me and took away from the red. The only thing I wish I could of had the black bead was the engine padding like you said.

that's a huge help. With that LSV MSRP being almost exactly 10K more than the VLX, I should be able to get a comparably equipped VLX for about 10 less than that before tax.

We got 15% off everything on our 05 with a GM employee discount that Indmar was offering. You just needed to order between Nov and Jan.

Brannon,

That's a beautiful boat! Congrats. Looking at the new Malibu boats at the LA Boat show gives me the itch to get a new one. I was told that a VLX with standard equiment was 48K.

Eric I believe msrp is $47,900. At a minimum dont skimp on the power wedge-optional bow ballast and 340 monsoon. It will help greatly in the resell department. All other options can be upgraded or added later.

Eric, Your right it is $48,000 or $47,900, but add all the options and it all adds up fast. My stereo is going to cost me about 5 to 6 thousand. I just picked up my NVS Tyrant Speakers from Duane today. They are awsome looking I must say. Duane is a stand up guy for sure.

Owning a boat is not cheap no matter what boat you own. I went with every option this time, because with my 03 VLX I didn't and later wished I did.

Good Luck.

What did you pay, before tax, and what did you get then? Glad you have no regrets, but a little bigger payment could mean major more $$$ total.

Here is a link to a few pictures from the Nashville boat show. The pink boat is the one ordered from TNTWatersports. One picture has a boat show price.
