obviously cheap as possible -- i can go get it for about 500-600$ or so in just fuel. maybe willing to double that, depending on the situation --do you know of someone who would be interested?

I had my boat shipped from Ohio to California when I first purchased it. Done by a professional transportation company, and a much farther distance than Texas to NC. I believe they charged me $1,100, so if you're willing to part with that kind of dough, you should look into getting it done professionally.

It's been a few years, but if you're interested, I'm happy to look through my old paperwork to find out who i worked with, and the total cost. I did have to pay like $100 for a forklift operator to take it off the back of the transporter when it arrived at the dock, but it was still well worthwhile...

Use uship.com. I used it to ship a boat from AZ to MI. Basically you have professional transporters bidding on the shipment. Just make sure they have DOT papers and insurance and you are good to go. They even had a rebate from UShip when it did it back in May. Best way to go for sure and hopefully you have a lot of people bidding because it drove my price down a ton.

1100.00 is super cheap... the cheapest i have been quoted is 2300.00 --that is 1.90 per loaded mile -- but outrageous -- if you don't mind looking i would appreciate it...

Osborne Inboard Transport is a lot less and are based in KY which is close. I had them run a boat for me up from Florida to KY and they went out of their way to accomodate me on very short notice.

If I remember correctly it was $2,400 for the 1600 mile trip. That should be around $1.50 per mile. I con't recall if this was a discounted price since he was making a round trip pulling a boat back?

try osborne inboard transport, they moved my boat from kentucky to florida, not sure of the price but heard they were fair.

i just signed up w/ u-ship -- already received one quote of 1000$ -- seems awful cheap, the transporter has tons of positive feedback... guess we'll see.. thanks for all the assistance... i was hoping someone on here was heading this way or closer that would be interested... maybe it would take car of their gas and make a few bucks, and in turn same me time and $$$

I am in the works to get a boat shipped from SoCal to Minnesota and have recieved a number of bids for $1800. It is 2000 miles and that seems very reasonable. Even got one bid for $1600 but on a semi trailor. I don't know about how they get it on and off the trailor but will have to ask. All the other bids were pulling the boat with a pick up truck on its own trailor, also from Uship.

I just sent my tow rig and boat with MB Transport today (from CA to FL). I'll let you know how it goes when he delivers on the 7th. We paid $1800.

For you guys that have done this...

1. Do they tow the boat on your trailer behind thier truck, put the boat and trailer on a flat bed, or what?

2. Do they shrink wrap it or use a shipping cover?

3. Do they insure accessories such as stereo, boards, life jackets, etc against theft or damage?

I decided against this boat, due to the hassle from the broker handling the deal... see my other post.... thanks for all the tips guys..

I had a guy shrink wrap our boat prior to shipping. The guy put both the boat (on the trailer) and the tow rig on the same trailer, then tied/strapped the boat trailer to his trailer, then disconnected our rig to be strapped down separately.
depending on the wheel base of your boat trailer, they may or may not have a difficult time putting the boat trailer on their rig.
