Channel 10 news in Sac just reported an accident between a "ski boat" and a paddle boat in the delta last night around midnight, one death. Can't find anything on the web anywhere on it though.

paddle boats at midnight = no nav lights to let other boats know where you are. Thats just stupid to be out at midnight in a paddle boat, or any other boat with no nav lights.

Agreed on that count. Have to wait until the facts are out but i'm also questioning a "ski boat" out at that hour as well and how fast was he running to plow and kill someone? The whole thing sounds shady.

any kind of motorized boat out driving at night at full speed on the delta is not abnormal at all. we go out at night all the time when the moon is out and drive at 25 plus miles per hour. there are times that we are out till 3 am

out on a paddle boat, no life jacket and on a crazy holiday weekend is just asking for it.

Thats kind of like riding your bicycle on the freeway (in the lanes) at midnight with no lights or a helmet on.

Any boat this weekend might be considered crazy by some of us.

the sad thing is the law makers and powers that be are probably working on new laws after all these accidents this year, to help control us out of control boaters
