I am trying to plumb in extra soft ballast sacs into the boat so that the same three factory pumps will fill the hard tans, then overflow into the sacs, than overflow out of the boat.... has anyone done this before?? Im thinking if this is too big of a job I will get it done wither here in Tampa Florida or if someone knows of someplace else do get it down around here I would like to know where.. maybe orlando?? What would something like this cost if I have most of the parts and sacs??

Look on mastercraft team talk. There is tons of info on how to install extra ballast with step by step instructions and pics that have been posted. If you have a newer xstar with pump timers there is ways to extend the timers and ways to bypass them all together. I have done the ballast install on my X2 with no problems and I am now bypassing my timers using info from team talk members. If you can't find anything on there let me know and I will find them and post a link for you. Good Luck!

You need to disconnect the vent lines from the boat and use them to fill the bags then install new vent lines from the bag to the boat. The rear bags are pretty easy, the KGB one is a little trickier install but if you start with the rears it should be pretty straight forward moving forward.

Depending on year you may have to reprogram the pumps, some years have timers some don't.

Do you have the bags, connections, hose and clamps?

Here is a link to an install one of our customers did, its the best step by step I've seen so far. http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...highlight=sacs

It's really easy I just did it this weekend prolly took 2 hours. Follow what Corey posted that's what I did, of course your Xstar is a little different then the X2 all your tie in's for the rear tanks are done in the front. One tip I have is when you run the vent hose from the front KGB tank to the port bag, disconnect from the tank and shove the hose under from inside your port storage area, trying to shove it through from the tank area into the storage area is almost impossible. I also didn't tie in the vent line to the existing hose on the port side rear tank I just disconnected the hose at the hose fitting(near the floor) and ran the vent line back then tied in with a straight fitting to the existing vent line. Heat the hose to make the fittings slide in easier.

The parts you need other than the bags are:
8 - fly high 90 degree connections
8 - fly high bag connections
2 - 90 degreee elbows(used to tie into rear starboard bag lines)
1 - straight fitting connection(used on port rear bag line)
14 - hose clamps
70' - 1" ID hose

It's super easy!!

Sorry about dropping off there.... I went out of town.
My boat is a 2005 and does not have timers. I only have bags but I am going to read over all this new info and go from there.
Thanks

Feel free to give our tech support a call too, they can walk you through the install process on the phone if you have any questions.
