Best Prop for 2006 X2

Hey I am an avid wakeboard/wakeskate rider and want to get a new prop on my 06 X2. My boat currently holds about 600 lbs + factory ballast and is slo as •••••••• of the hole. Looking to upgrade to save a few bucks on gas and not have to drop the hammer every fall. Anyways, post what you all think is a good replacement....

I'd run the OJ 14.25x14.5 XMP

Any one else know some good props. What's a good brand??

I have the OJ and the ACME and like the acme better. This is on an 06 Xstar with the mcx

What motor?

MCX motor. We run full ballast 650 + 500 lbs of sand. Usually 2-3 in the boat plus one rider. Small man made lake thats about a 2 mile stretch. No one skis or tubes. Rare pleasure cruises etc... Thanks for any of your input

Acme 1285

Thanks everyone. I really like the Acmes. Do any of you on here have that prop? Is it really aggressive out of a dig?

What are people with the fly high kit or anyone who adds a lot of weight running? It would be for a 08 x2.

I have a 2006 X-2 w/MCX and typically run with quite a few people in the boat often times with the Fly-High kit full. I contacted Eric @ OJ and he recommended the 14.75 x 15.5 XMP Edge. After about 15 hours with the new prop I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this upgrade! The boat pulls much harder out of the hole and through mid range. The boat only lost about 1mph top end. Anyone else running a XMP Edge? Sounds awesome but I'm a little skeptical because the dimensions are far from the Acme 1285 and a regular XMP. Any thoughts???

I have an 06 X2 with the flyhigh set up - full rear lockers and the bow sac, plus an additional 500 sac in the bow walkway --- with the stock prop the thing could barely plane and was a slug through the turns.

Picking up the Acme 1285 prop was the smartest thing I ever did.. The rig is as tough as nails now and could tractor pull to the finish line. Gets on plane fast and has plenty of power. Only lost about 5mph on top speed.

I know it sounds crazy, but I gotta say that I think the wake is much much improved with the use of the new prop. I dont know if its the extra weight I can now add, or the fact that the boat just feels like it rides differently in the water, but the wake is hands down much better than with the stock setup.

100% happy with the Acme, have not had the chance to try the OJ.

Josh- Have you played around with the weight much? I just got an 08 with the fly-high and rode for the first time this weekend. It was a decent wake, but felt like I needed a lot more weight to make it a great wake. Is the bow walkway the best spot to add weight? Also, what length do you ride at? I'm used to riding at 75ft behind an x-star. Had some problems with tantrums at 70ft behind the x2. I kept landing on top of the wake or just short. After really charging it I was able to land them, but not effortless like the x-star. Thanks in advance.

Bryan - I have played with the wake a bunch.. more times then I'd like to count.

In order to get the wake on par with some of the other wake machines its best to do the full stock ballast, the extra sacs in the back, the extra sac under the bow seating, and a bow sac in the walkway - (like a 500lber) The walkway sac really helps to get the wake nice and crisp, and a little longer.

As far as line length, I usually ride around 70-72 on this setup, only because thats where the money spot is. Let me know how it works out. Might try speeding up 1-2 mphs if your having an issue with clearing the wake at that spot.
