I dont have a tower on my boat....yet. Does anyone know of a rack or any board storage device that can be used without a tower? Something that can be mounted to a dock cleat or grab rail?

Wake Designs used to make one that clamped to the grab rail in a D-Drive boat. Haven't seen one in years, but it is a starting point at least.

These are pretty small and you would probably need to find or modify something besides a grab rail. http://www.boatersworld.com/product/477380018.htm?utm_medium=productsearch&utm_source= google

Anyone ever seen or heard of a 1.5-2" vertical post that can be mounted to the gunwhale so a rack can be attached? Still probably several years before I NEED a tower and might not have this boat when I get to that point. But need to get the wakeboard and kneeboard out of the way.

how about a fly-pole thing and a rack on that. pop it on and off easy enough and they make a 4 board rack for it

If that doesn't work and depending how DIY you want to go, you might find some ideas at http://www.tacomarine.com/cat--Marine-Fabrication--marfab.html
