Currently riding Burton Freestyle boots. Only been riding 3 years and don't get to ride as much as I'd like. They feel comfortable, but seem to have way to much flex for my ability. Seems I have to really work them to get the board to response. Any recommendations would help greatly. Thanks.

Get a stiff double BOA boot. Vans and K2 make a good one.

Thanks Jason. That's what I was leaning towards. I've heard good and bad about the BOA systems though with regards to the wires breaking. Maybe that was on older models. The Freestyle are also a pain in the butt to get laced up. Too many steps with the laces and strap system.

Not all years have the strap, I think it was only on 2-3 years ago. I actually love mine (with the strap), and the strap helps get the laces out of the way for my back foot

I updated my 04 Burton Ions to this years. Stiffish boot without being overly stiff.

The lacing system is sweet. They call it speed zone or something. Very fast and easy to get them laced just right. Ck them out if you get a chance.

Those are pretty sweet, but a little more than I wanted to spend. I was considering the Burton Ruler though, also with the SpeedZone.

Check out ThirtyTwo boots. They have some affordable boots that are very good and usually very very warm.

I agree with Craig ^^^^

Randy I wear 32 and there the best boot I have ever worn. I also just bought some for Brooke for christmas and her's have an ankle brace like system inside them, very supportive.

the double boa system is pretty cool (09 Vans Cirro) but it take a little bit of time for them to wear in and loose the pressure points across the top of the foot.

I'll have to check out some 32's. Blair, how was the snowboard trip on New Year's? You didn't miss a thing at the lake. Ended up being me, Mike and Josh and it was windy and totally blown out.

We ended up going the day after New Years day. But It was hurting to much after New Years eve to wakeboard anyway. I'll be up at App. Sunday night for alittle snowboarding if you want ride.

Just may do that depending on what's going on Monday. What do you think of the Thirty Two Lashed boot? Ever used that model?

Yea I heard that is a really good boot. If you go to the The-house.com they have a video of them going over the features of that boot. It has the ankle support system I was talking about.

The lashed is a great boot. I've been riding that model for 4 years now. They are a bit on the soft side though, if you are still trying to get away from that. They have laces on the liner around the ankle, and a strap around the top of the liner.

Thanks Patrick. I've read the reviews on the Lashed and it sounds badass. I thought it was more of a medium flex though. I don't want super stiff, just more than the Freestyle.

I don't think you'll be disappointed, especially with price considered.

How are the lashed width wise? I have pretty wide feet. There's no where close to try any on. If those are for narrow feet, what would be a good choice for wide feet?
Old     (wakeboarder2687)      Join Date: Aug 2004       01-11-2010, 2:44 PM Reply
I'm not sure how they'd compare to other models, but would say they're semi-wide. I usually wear wider shoes, skate shoes, I buy my work boots wide (just one width wider than reg. E?). Do you typically need to buy wide shoes, boots? I'm not sure what manufacturers run wide, although I have heard salomon's run narrow, but that was a few years back.

Usually buy EEE. Freakish, I know, but it is what it is.

Thats a tough call. Sorry, I can't help. I'd say try on as many different brands and styles as possible. Uncomfortable boots suck

CHeck out Salamon Dialogues. They come in a WIDE version. I have them and they're super sick. definately a free style boot. super comfy. i wear a 13 in street shoes. i dont have overly wide feet but wide enough that its uncomfortable in regular boots.

you should check 'em out.

Not really familiar with those wazzy. What are you asking for those and what is the flex like compared to the Freestyles?

that is this years model... mine are 2 years old & regular lacing & black & gum in color.....

as far as flex compared to Freestyles... not sure since i don't ride burton.... but i am guessing they are a little stiffer....
