I've decided to get a helmet to try to take some of the headache out of hitting the water wrong. Anyone have any recommendations? The primary goal is pain reduction, all other features optional. :-)

I would check out Shred Ready, they are the best IMO.

Does anyone know of a company that makes a helmet for kids or one that is 51cm. I have a small head and I can't find a helmet smaller than 53cm which is what I have now and I had to put my own foam padding in it to make it kinda fit. Any help would be great.

DON'T WEAR A HELMET, IT ONLY INCREASES THE IMPACT OF THE FALL!!!! Just kidding, I think that argument is hilarious. I wear the Ace Wake and love it and my buddy wears the Shred Ready in the fancy blue-carbon. It looks better than mine but I like the ear flaps.

Pro Tec makes a jr ace wake helmet that would work for the kids, they come in two size JR. S (49-50cm) and JR. M (51-52cm)

Hey Andy....can't find a website for the new 08's. Any suggestions as to where to get or see the 08?

Chris....adds to the surface area causing more damage

I just was in the market and looked at the Pro Tec which is a great helmet and I looked at the Triple Eight, both are skate helmets and about the same price. I went with the Triple Eight for the fit and the comfort. The Triple Eight has a terry cloth liner all away around your head which is unmatched comfort and can just throw in the washer when it gets that lake funk smell. Down fall is it does hold more water then what the Pro Tec does. Good Luck with your decision.

Purchased a Wake Ace and Wake Water jr from here:

Everything was perfect.

Just an FYI, if you get the Wake Ace, some have had troubles with the earflaps falling off. I used Liquid Nails to glue the snaps together, no problems now.

Thanks for the link Mike H. The price is right on the ProTec classic. Can anyone tell me if the ProTec usually run large or small on their sizing?

I have to give props to http://www.xsportsprotective.com/ for service. I used the link Mike H posted above and bought my helmet there. I ordered a helmet that is too small (my fault) and they exchanged it right away and no questions asked, even cross-shipped me the new helmet so I could use the new helmet that weekend. It's hard to find good service these days and I just wanted to give a mention to these guys for the great service.
