Are you scared of a little wind and cold water?

I've ridden on Tahoe where the water is a balmy 45 degrees year round. I'm more concerned about my boat on those long, cold, lonely winter nites. What do you guys do to keep your blocks from freezing? I keep my boat at the lake and had to winterize....

I drain all the water out then run about 4-6 gallons of antifreeze till it blows it out the exhaust. takes about 30 minutes.

Doug2 if yours is a direct drive it would be easier to do.

It is DD. Do you just drain the exhaust jackets or pull a freeze plug and then, I'm guessing here, suck up the antifreeze? I went all out and fogged the cylinders and manifold, added fuel stabilizer, changed the oil, filter, fuel/water separator, belts, pulled the battery, yadda yadda yadda. So she's buttoned up til warmer wx returns.

By the way, where is Skytook?

I drain the block on both sides, undo a waterhose connection to drain the manifolds, put all the plugs back in. I also drain the tranny. Then I rigged up a toilet plunger with 3/4 hose to a 35 gallon barrel on the swim platform that has rv antifreeze in it. Start the engine and let it run till it blows out the exhaust. I did all the stuff you mentioned in November, but we will go out if we get a good day so I didn't fog or pull the batt.

Sounds like a great setup. There really aren't too many hard freezes here but it only takes one. But I've missed out on too many nice days. If I ran it a couple of times a month, I wouldn't have to worry about fogging or the battery. Where'd you get the drum?

from a water treatment co. Culligans I think. It is the blue plastic type. Never been to Waurika, but thinking about Konawa since it's heated.

Konawa hasn't been any warmer for a little while. It's like they turned off the heating. Per the fishing reports, that is.

I'm definitely a wuss. My boat is covered, inside the nice, warm building for a while.

And, I think he's talking about Skiatook. It's up by Tulsa.
