First of all, don't worry about Parks and Shane reading this stuff and taking offense cuz Shane couldn't be bothered and Parks doesn't even have a computer.
Lets break it down into the categories of Mobes, Spins, Raleys, Rails, Handsomeness, Grabs and Double Inverts:
Mobes
Dum Dum: Shane, I've never seen video of Parks do one and his tootsie rolls were fugly
Crow Mobe: Parks, I might have seen Shane land this once, but Parks had a sick skeezer back in the day
Front Mobe: draw, don't think they ever did that one on video
Whirly/Mobydick: Parks, Double Whirlybird (Are you kidding me!!)
KGB: Shane, I've never seen video of Parks do one, not even wrapped
Back Mobe: Parks, he used to do back mobe to air mobe combo, I've never see video of Shane landing one
Pete Rose: Shane, he grabs it and lands cleaner, Parks often missed the grab
Blind Pete: draw, maybe they will learn it one day
Tie 3:3
Spins
Hs Bs 720: Shane, cuz he does them w2w, and I havent seen Parks do that on video
TS BS 720: Shane, I have not seen a video of Parks landing this
Hs Fs 720: Shane, he had them dialed w2w, and I've only seen Parks hit this off the double up in videos
Ts Fs 720: draw, I think I've seen both of them have sketch landings on this one
Hs Fs 900: Parks, I don't think Shane landed this yet
Ts Fs 900: Shane, his looks sweet w2w, I only heard that Parks could land this w2w but I don't think there is video
Ts Fs 1080: Parks, duh
Shane wins 4:2
(you might say that landing a 10 makes Parks win, but he only landed it once and Shane landed his best spins with consistency. Even if you think landing a 10 should earn Parks 2 points on my sophisticated measuring system, Shane still wins)
Raleys:
Parks wins, obviously
Rails:
Shane wins, tough call but he has a better nose press and he taps. I've never seen Parks tap. Shane makes it look better but you can bet on Parks to pull off something impossible. Still, Shane wins.
Handsomeness:
Er, uh...Draw...I guess. Why is this even here?!
Grabs:
Shane, he showed more dedication to grabbing in the beginning and he's still got a few sick tweaks left in him
Double Inverts:
Parks, he's landed a Temper Tantrum, Double Backroll, Double Halfcab Roll, Double Mobe. Dude is sick
So Shane wins in three categories while Parks wins in two. I would even go as far as to say Parks wins in the least important categories. Really Parks just got Raley's and Double inverts from Shapiro anyways.
Guess that means Shane is a better wakeboarder. I'm glad that's settled.
Shane is more stylish and is still improving. Parks was doing whats being done years ago and is a legend. They are in two different catagories of their own.
i'm not baffled that you took the time to make this list (I do nerdy sh*t too) but i'm entertained that you put it up here and everyones comments. Is "moustache" a subcategory of handsome? cause shane wins that one!
Shane has dope style and I love his riding....but Parks invented SO many tricks and killed the pro tour back in his day. Most pros aren't as good today as he was 10 years ago. I really dont understand how you could even question which brother is better. Watch the Parks Documentary.....
i'd like to challenge you on Shane having the better 'stache. Parks rocked a monster stach back in the day. I'd like to see 5 pics of each with a stache and 10 pt critique system based on stache length, design, shape and 2 other categories that I'll leave up to you.
I met Shane the other day and he is one of the coolest dudes ever(find my thread). My buddy works for a boat dealer and they had parks out for a ride day to teach people and he said he sat at the front of the boat in his hoodie napping the whole time. Said it was a big let down and he wasn't much of a people person.
That just sounds like he had had a rough night before the ride day. He was pretty social and nice to everyone when I met him at Knoxville last year. One of my buddies got into a surprisingly long conversation with him despite the number of people milling around at the awards ceremony.
WOW! Not only did you manage to completely ignore everybody's comments about how pointless this thread, but you managed to continue this unnecessary argument with yourself......
Hey QC, since you are so good at making lists, can you make me these lists:
All of the riders who hit 1080s before 2000
All of the riders who hit a half dozen double flip variations
All of the riders who hit 1080s before 2005
All of the riders who sold more boards than 20% of the ENTIRE industry in a given year
All of the riders who have won the Wake Awards legend award
All of the riders who have won the only contest that means anything to the real pros
If you could just list those out and tell me what name stands out to you that would be sweet! Thanks in advance man!!!!
Cisco, Shane is good rider but is in a far different league than Parks. You obviously don't know much about wakeboarding and you seem to be judging this debate based off video sections.
1260 and the double-half cab mobe are probably the two most difficult tricks to ever be thrown down... but more 1260s are going to be landed soon i imagine, which to me makes the double-half cab mobe more difficult. just my opinion....
