Hey there is a shop near where I live that I found 2006 Jetpilot vests at. They are only selling them online right now though I guess. Their web site is www.bakesonline.com. The new A-10s are so sick!

I've heard that the A-10 will not even float a person. Is this true? If so, why would anyone ever wear it as opposed to just wearing nothing? If it won't float a person, only reason why I could see someone wearing it is to avoid getting pulled over riding and I guess cause it looks cool.

The A10 will float a person. For Jet Pilot comp vests, the floatation actually exceeds the Coast Guard standards. The stretch material, the removable floatation, the 2 points of closure instead of 3, the floatation being attached to the vest material are all reasons the Jet Pilot comp vests are not CGA. Also, sometimes color alone can be rejected by the testing process. Jet Pilot '06 looks very good. Josh

Sorry Paul, no boston. According to Jetpilot, Shane did not want to limit or be tied to certain teams. So 2006 color options are Silver, Black, Gold.

The A-10 floats you as long as you get the right size. If you are a "heavier" person I would recommend getting a little bulkier comp vest or a good CGA vest.

Andrew, If you workout and are musclar it won't float you. If you are a skinny dude then it will work great. I am curious about the Falco to see if it is better.

Usually on new stuff everyone has to stay at MAP pricing. In the retail biz that is Minimum Advertised Price. I think Wakeside usually just gives like 5 cents more off on new items or something. I could be wrong...guess we will see whenever they get their '06 vests in.

the Jetpilot A10 will float some, but certainly not all. I have a USCG approved vest that floats me at about chin level when i let out all me breath. It floats me at shoulder level or maybe chest level with a lung full of air. The Jetpilot A10 floated me at eye level with my lungs as full as they would go. When I blew all my air out i sunk. Not like a rock, but fast enough that if i was knocked unconscious and had a bunch of water go down my mouth/lungs, then I would be gone by the time the boat came around to get me. It went back to the store. I'm 5'11", 215 pounds with about 13% body fat. Body fat and muscle mass has much to do with your bouyancy. If you don't have much muscle or if you have a reasonable amount of insulation (fat) then it will probably float you ok. It absolutely does not float you like a USCG vest. No way no how. I called Jetpilot and they told me they had no data on how much it would float. Note all the warnings on the thing. there to protect them from lawsuits. John

Does anyone know about the changes on the '06 Murray Full Metal Jacket? Or did they just change colors? http://www.bakesonline.com/detail.aspx?ID=288

John had a good post. If you are concerned with the floatation on a bad crash then go with a USCGA vest. It is made to float you if you are unconcious. The new vests that are USCGA are just as cool looking now also. Manufacturers have really stepped it up.

How well does the baller vest float? Lost my A-10 Attack vest on the delta saterday afternoon,it was somebodys lucky day.Anyways, I wore Gordons outlaw vest and it floated me a little better than the A-10, leaning towards the 06 black and silver baller vest though.

The black and silver Baller is so killer looking. I got a chance to test the Baller (Silver and Blue). Out of the water it was extremely comfortable...probably the best I've worn. In the water it floated me well...kinda rode a little up but just get it a tad snug and I think it'd be perfect. I'd say it floats a bit better than the A-10. I still haven't seen the '06 Jetpilot vests anywhere but www.bakesonline.com. Dunno when everyone else is getting them out.

That's good Paul. If you get knocked out, make sure you don't move around much! BTW Paul: Evan, Billy, Allen, and myself are all coming to Orlando/Palm Bay to ride with Justin Butinsky November 10, 11, and 12. We are trying to hit OWC one day. Will you be around?

Nationals is the end of this month... a shame you all will be missing that by a week and half! There is a good chance I will be in town and even better chance that if i'm in town I will be at OWC. Maybe I can make SOB go. I've not seen him hit sliders much.

Seeing him ride in person would be a real treat. My first choice would be seeing him behind a boat, but beggars can't be choosers!
