With no wheeling and dealing, you can get one LOADED for between 50 - 55.

I just checked out the Z1 at my local dealer here in Denver, Wakeboard and Waterski Specialty. Their Z1 is yellow and black with a black powdercoat Samson tower. It has quite a few options (including some Kicker tower speakers) and the boat show price is set at $49,995 (pretty sure on that). I think if you got rid of a few options you could probably get one for mid 40's pretty easily.

Here is the boat show special for Houston. If you look at the (2008 Houston boat show pics) thread I took a bunch of pictures of this boat.

That's just waaay too much money. That's only a few thousand less than my RZ2 cost. I bet the tower of power probably adds $5k to the base price though...

With prices like that on the lesser known proven hulls... why wouldnt someone just get a MC X1 or BU VRide?
Old     (chpthril)      Join Date: Oct 2007       01-05-2008, 8:18 PM Reply
Custom hull color, Vision Air, Docking lights, Transom light, are all running this price up.

The word CUSTOM makes me laugh. In my opinion... CUSTOM means made CUSTOM as per my specifications. So a boat sitting on the show room floor is nothing but regular stock for me. Getting special order CUSTOM ORDERED means CUSTOM to me.

FYI, My buddy lives in Houston and the pricing he has relayed to me from Texas Tige is always higher than anything I've been quoted here in TN. In fact, he tried to buy from my dealer, but got shot down because of their non-compete agreement.

If you take off the unnecessary "bling", that boat is in line with what we have heard for pricing. Plus, it's a free market econ, the dealer must thinks he can get that for it. Supply and demand, price it to what the market can bear.

ive actually seen this just today and i tell you it is phat.. loaded to the gills and is prob worth close to that for the right person. nice boat.. but the 22ve they have there is the same price with out ballast and some other stuff like the drivers seat and custom colors..

Sold 3 Z1 yesterday at the show, at that price.
LOADED, LOADED, LOADED....

So if the boat starts at $40k or roundaboat, what the heck kind of options bring it up to $68,565 MSRP??? As a customer I'd want to see at price breakdown.

WOW that's one expensive ballast system.

Funny how it is that as soon as someone heres the boat starts around 40k they immediately think that every Z1 they see should be that price. As with every Mfg. and every model there is about a $15k price difference between bare bones entry level and loaded with every extra option.
Jon Allen: Every customer is shown the price breakdown, both MSRP and what they are paying for it.

Go out and demo a Z1, it will be quite obvious why this boat will be leaving the V-Ride in the dust (or wake for that matter)!!

Steve check your math, where did the other $13,500 go.

Steve Parkin,

I am well aware that probably no Z1 will ever sell for $40k. What I am saying is how the heck can you put that many options on a price point boat to increase the price by $28,565? And where is the breakdown listed on the boat?

Just to let you know, I am a fan of Tige's wakes and look forward to riding behind a Z1.
Old     (chpthril)      Join Date: Oct 2007       01-07-2008, 10:27 AM Reply
I think a loaded up boat is a great way to unveil a new model for a show.

Since Tige prides themselves on customer optioned/ordered boat, the breakdown is only a mouse click away, unlike others that come "fully Loaded" and have no options to add/drop so you either take it or leave it at the price the dealer sets.

Jon Allen: To answer your question and hopefully clear it up for nubu as well-

You can get in to a Z1 stripped down for 40k. That is what you will purchase it for, that is not MSRP.

Our LOADED Z1 has a boat show price of 55k. Again, MSRP is much higher than that.

I don't know of any dealership that is selling boats for MSRP.

Besides, why should the best built boats in the industry (Tige) be the least expensive boats?
Old     (jon_a)      Join Date: Feb 2003       01-07-2008, 11:58 AM Reply
That is all clear to me, but why is MSRP on this boat so high? And is not $40k base MSRP for this boat? I want to know what options are on the boat that make the MSRP what it is.

I feel like my question is being danced around. I don't care about this dealer's selling price or what I could buy a stripped down boat for.

I guess to dumb it down a bit, what I'd like to see is the following:

Tige Z1: $39995 MSRP
Engine: $3000 MSRP (or whatever the correct numbers are)
Tower speakers: $1500 MSRP

....and so on to add up to $68,565.

sales is a numbers game....average joe thinks he's saving 13k off retail.

I think Jon may be after something like this...

Seshed the Z1 all day long on Monday, don't worry all you Naysayers, when loaded (Stock + ~750), it's SICK......

Plus the boat looks great on the water and handles like a Tige. Not to mention priced at $40k(bone stock)-$55k(loaded to the hilt). Try it before you dis it.

By Ryan Lacefield (26lacefield)

yeah 54 is a great price. thats loaded up with everything you could possible get on it.

WOW look at the price on that Malibu......I demand to see a breakdown of that. Who do they think they are selling a boat at that MSRP

Old     (big_brandon)      Join Date: Dec 2005       01-07-2008, 1:58 PM Reply
Ok, here you go.....

MSRP = $68,5K
Boat Show Discount = $13,5K
Your Price = $55K

How's that?

Malibu!! Not Tige!!
You can get an X-1 PROVEN HULL loaded with everything possible for a lower msrp than Z1

^^Yup

"WOW look at the price on that Malibu......I demand to see a breakdown of that. Who do they think they are selling a boat at that MSRP"

There is a big bottle of astroglide on the options list, must be the same on the Z1.

I still don't understand how the Z1 became more than an RZ2. Plus two Tige dealers said, "here is what pricing will be"...is that markup like buying the first Z06 corvette? Or are the dealers going to say they were initially wrong on what the pricing was going to be. Or did you mark up the pricing to make it appear as though you were giving the consumer a discount?

Short term gain equals long term loss...

Ewing, there is only 1 MSRP and that comes directly from the factory.

No one pays msrp

The Z-1 interior looks very similar to the Tige Switch line from a few years ago. Is the Z-1 picking up where the Switch ended?
Old     (26lacefield)      Join Date: Aug 2006       01-07-2008, 6:28 PM Reply
keith the z1 is a lot nicer than the switch was. most of the inboard boat sales went to the 21 foot boats so tige figured that they should get a 21 foot boat to compete with everyone else.

Ewing i was just up at the portland boat show and was looking at a 230 CC. the msrp on that boat was 104,995. boat show price 89,995. the boat was almost loaded up with everything you could get but do u think anyone will ever pay that msrp price. i don't think so.

Kyle have seen MSRP of a loaded Z1 and it was under 55k. I also looked/demoed a well equipped RZ2 it had an MSRP of 72300. So I say that MSRP is BS or MSRP in PA is much lower than in TX.

I guess the saying of things are bigger in TX may apply here.

What I don't understand is Ryan and Brandon both stated in a previous post that MSRP should be mid 50's for a "loaded" boat. Was this boat more loaded...was it loadeded?

I don't care what a CC 230 was...CC 230 is not a price entry boat like the Z1 was supposed to be.
