.....can anyone shed some light on the main differences between these boats. Other than a few inches in length is it basically that the supra has more standard features? this is for 2006 boats....thanks

I have owned both. An '04 Mobius LSV and currently an '06 Supra 21v. Mobius is a great entry level boat for the money. The interior is not as plush and the freeboard is not as deep. Wake is good but not up to what the Supra is. IMO if you can swing the extra $$$, go with the Supra. You'll be much happier. You can definitely tell the difference between the 2. My .02.

supra is worth the extra cash

We owned an 05' Mobius LSV and now own an 06' Supra 21v. Needless to say everything about the supra is better;wake, interior, craftsmanship, depth, storage. Spend the extra cash for sure.

I had a 2005 Mobius and recently bought a 2006 21 V. It is like going from a Toyota to a Lexus.
IMHO

everyone is talking about the 05' LSV...the 06' isn't even in the same league...it does have alot deeper freeboard than previous years, also the interior is the same as the supra...vinyl and foam. it doesn't have the BLING factor that the supra has though. But it does have a much better wake than 05' and previous. I think it's much closer to the supra since they changed it up in 06'. We'll be out this afternoon, when we get back I'll post a pic of the 06' wake.

Ryan i was thinking the samething. 06 is the new hull and pretty much a new boat for the Mobius.

Ryan Hall,
Vinyl and Foam is the same as what Supra used to use to my knowledge. Yes the 06' Moomba is much nicer than the older ones. Both great boats. Good luck and you will enjoy both. Hang out in both of them for some time and go with your gut.

Michael,

My boat search came down to these two boats as well when I was looking last winter. Ryan and others are correct that the 06 LSV is much closer to the 21V than the 05 was and it's mostly a matter of luxury when you upgrade to the Supra. I test drove both and I didn't see much difference in wake, drivabilty, etc...at least not with stock ballast. In the end, I went with the 21V because I could get a great deal on a leftover 05 model that made it only 3k more than a similarly equiped 06 LSV. If the price difference had been more like 6-8k like it would have been if I was getting an 06 Supra, I think I would have gotten the LSV instead of the Supra as the additional luxury wasn't worth that much more money to me.

Best bet is to drive and ride behind both to see what you think. You won't go wrong with either choice.

Diggs is right, the Moomba is what the Supra used to have and no the new Moomba is nice but no where close to the Supra for creature comforts.

great feedback guys!.....yes I am looking at the difference in 06's.....now what would a great year end deal be worth.....moomba lsv around 30-33 supra around...do guys think its possible to get one around 35 to 38 in a clearance?
Old     (rhall)      Join Date: Apr 2006       09-30-2006, 8:58 PM Reply
is that 30-33k a price you have already gotten? If so, how is it equipped?
Old     (gmarkham1)      Join Date: Sep 2003       10-01-2006, 4:52 AM Reply
my dealership is selling my used 06 21v for 41,900... that would be the best I would expect on a leftover that is well equipped...

last winter I was making the same decision, lsv or 21v... and it came out to what I would be happier with longer and the 21v won out.... btw the only reason I am getting a new one is because the boat came in the wrong color after we ordered it...

I dont think you will get either boat for 33k. Most certainly not a Supra.

If you find either boat that cheap be sure you tell us were and see if they have another one for me.

ryan..no I haven't got that price.....my thinking is 33000 base price + options (should be able to get 4 of them for free which is done at shows) so lets say with a few more options base price comes to 36 or 37 then minus 20% for a real good deal should put you somewhere in that range. There is a pretty much loaded lsv for sale was 41 and change .....now he is asking 36 and change.....5000 drop so give it another three drop by end of november and that would put you at 33.

I think y'all are missing it!

Playpen seating is the main difference for me. My last 2 21V's have had 1150lb bags up front. All hidden. All automatic. No stepping on fat sacs to pro weight the boat

The both drive great. Both have great wakes.

Secondly 21V is deeper and wider.

Michael, you might have a long wait. I hope your talking foreign currency because no dealer will sell you a LSV for that price..
Old     (absoluteboarder)      Join Date: Aug 2002       10-04-2006, 6:19 PM Reply
hey kevin there are some already listed in the 34000 range and I was offered one for 35500.....so 33000 isn't that far off ( acouple of months?)..and these lsv's are not bare bones ....for example the one for 35500 has

006 Moomba Mobius LSV, 21' 6'' 2006 Mobius LSV this boat is in great shape. It is loaded with the appearance package, flush kit, wakeboard prop, am/fm/cd, 4 channel amp, transom remote, tower speaker light bar combo, bimini, snap on cover, heater, gravity III Balast. FULLY LOADED!

there are some others currently for 36000 and change.....

I agree 30000 is probably unrealistic but in acouple of months I think 33000 is attainable....I didn'y say it was gonna be easy and the one thing I do have is time.........I do have a boat just not a very good one.

I would have to see it to believe that. Around here they are in the 40K+ range for the basic Mobius. If you guys can get a price like that why not get a XLV 23 footer for around 38k.

big e. I think you must be talking msrp. If the dealer can sell it at that....then he is getting rich......if people are paying that ......well then its our own fault that boats are so expensive.....like I said there are numerous lsv's for sale right now around 34 to 36.....in all fairness it is end of season....but thats how you get a good deal.

With the 2006+ models you are correct that the main difference is standard features and a few extra inches here and there. The Supra will come with Perfect Pass whereas the Moomba will have their own speed control system standard.

I was originally looking at a LSV because I thought I could get a great end of year price. Only problem, my dealer has 2007s. The Mastercraft dealer is still trying to get rid of a 2006 X1 with no real options for $48,000 as their "Closeout" price. Good luck with the end of year sales, they are out there somewhere.

The Supra will come standard with the EZ cruise just like the Moomba unless you upgrade to PP. My 21V still has the EZ cruise control switches on it since I had the dealer add the PP option.

Rob, I guess I was only partly right. 2007 is the year that PP is standard in the Supra's and EZCruise in the Moomba.

New for 2007
Integrated Perfect Pass Standard
