Danny,

You did not specify a size and I did not have time to contact everyone on the list about the size.

The list is in no way set in stone as I was just helping shaun and everyone out to keep the board moving so everyone that wants to try the board gets to.

I guess just put your name and address and who you would go after. So I guess maybe after Scott Firman. I do not want to make it difficult but I am sure Shaun wants everyone to ride this board!

Hope this helps

All i have to say is WOW. I called Austin up on Friday to see if he wanted to ride Sat. morning and he said only if it is early, because he is going out of town. Then he told me he had the Murray 140 and needed a ride so I was like HELL YA>

We meet near the ramp at 645ish am to gas up and take out the SN2001. Could not ask for better water. I am a beginner to the sport, I started riding last year and cleared my first wake at around Oct last year behind a BU. Well the SN wake is wider and I havent cleared it at all this year. Well we put my Torq's on the Murray and all I can say is WOW. I can not comment on a lot of technical stuff but this board is sweet. I am 6'4" 230lbs and this thing rode as smooth as butter. My wake is kind of steep as you that rode a SN know and this board rode right up the wake and I cleared it a few times. I was stoked to ride this board. I know I prob shouldnt be riding this board at my skill level but I am buying one. I loved it.
Austin and Emily have the pictures from yesterday and were handing the board off to the next person Sat evening. I will let him tell his tale and post some pics. I know he is out of town so this will be later in the week.
WOW sorry for the book.

I think Blair Barham has it now around Charlotte, NC and then it is coming here to the east coast of North Carolina to me : ) And then I will be sending it to Zach Burns in Va. Then I am not sure where it is going.

Either this one or the 145...could it make it into Oregon? I don't see anyone from Oregon on there yet. It could be sent up from CA real quick.

I have the board and unfortunately did not ride it this past weekend because of boat problems. I am trying to set a ride up for this weekend. If I cant get one lined up today, the board will be going in the mail and should be to Zach Tuesday or Wednesday. I hate the fact I may not get to ride it. What you gonna do though. Its a boat.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you get the board, and can't ride it for 7-10 days you need to pass it on. When this originally started I was under the impression that you should only have the board 2-3 days then send it on. If everyone held it for a week to ten day's there are a lot of people going to miss out. Maybe I'm out of line, but I thought this was about getting as many people as possible to try these boards out. Don't be selfish, and hold the board to where it's only convenient for you that's not what this pay it forward is about.
Old     (otown_dave)      Join Date: Dec 2007       06-03-2008, 2:04 PM Reply
You are absolutely correct. If you look at my first post I drove the board to CJ to keep it moving As I felt that I had it too long & it was 3 days. Sorry people, If you can't ride it in a timely manner than pass it on to someone that is close by & they might offer to give you a pull also. When I took the board to CJ he offered to hit the lake while I was over his way & I'm sure others would extend the offer instead of it sitting in your room & not on the water where it belongs!!!

I liked it, I seemed to get higher but also seemed to get more into the flats then with my 05 lf balance. It also seemed to do better in rougher water. But i don't know if i can justify buying a 600 dollar board with gas so high

Hey the board was sent out to Justin Hill on Tuesday so I would imagine he would get it today or tomorrow. As far as the board goes, I loved it. I currently ride the 07 Ronix Frontier and it seemed to ride similar but with ALOT more POP! If I knew my wife wouldnt string me up, I would have one on my boat as my primary board. Three of us had a chance to ride it while I had it and we all loved it. Great board Shaun!

Out on my 140 this past weekend. The board just gets better and better. Well actually the board doesn't get better. But my riding sure does. This board is SSSSOOOOOO easy to track and pops huge. I can notice a weight difference in this board for sure. The way it cuts thru the water there is MUCH less drag. My Ronix Frontier was light..but this is definitely lighter. And I guess what I am saying...it feels a lot lighter in the water. Boards can feel light out of the water but once your riding..they don't feel any different than a foam board that weighs 2 lbs more. This Murray feels lighter hooked into the water. the lift off the wake is awesome with the scooped out tip and tail. Murray and Nelson did an awesome job with the design of this board for sure. Rode the Sub VI and a Dark core from Ronix..but hands down...this board fits me the best. Let's here more of your opinions on the ride of this board..post some pics too...that's always cool!

All said and done we have to get this board back to Murray. I am curious about the journal and the pics that are getting circulated with the board. Any good stuff in there?

I got the 145 a few weeks ago, and the instructions Murray left were keep the board no more then 2-3 day's. I say stick to the list, and if you can't ride it within 2-3 day's send it to the next guy on the list. I would of loved to keep it a bit longer so I could get comfortable on it, and to let some of my friend's get a chance to ride it. Unfortunately I could not get it all done due to my schedule and the amount of time allowed to keep this board. I rode it one day and sent it the next just to give everyone else a chance to ride it. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAME WITH THE BOARD.

Come on guys, where is the board now? The best I can tell is that Tommy Piper had it on June 23rd, maybe even the 26th. So that was at least a week ago. Someone else SHOULD have it by now. If people don't start moving this board around the way Murray wanted, very few are going to get to try it.

Props to Reese for the original list, I've updated w/ anyone who posted in this thread up until this point asking to either receive the board or change their address. Also, all those who have received should have been removed.

That being said, Alan Owen appears next, and he can cross his name off the list when he gets the board.

Here is what I propose, and as a disclaimer, my name isn't even on the list, I just want to facilitate faster movement so more people get to ride it.

Alan, when you get the board, print this as a shipping list and attach it to the board when you send it off. Just cross your own name out when you get it and keep the board moving with the list. That will prevent all of the confusion about who gets the board next.

Also, another suggestion, especially in states where the riding is centralized or concentrated; meet up, meet new people, combine two or even three WW members and session the board together. Not only will you save time but you'll get the extra ballast.

I'm not suggesting driving 3 hours each way, but we can all make some sacrifices for this awesome opportunity right?

My last suggestion is, please think of others and if you know you won't be able to use the board within 5 days (although if you get it on a monday, i think you should get a weekend to try it,) please inform the person shipping to send it to the next person on the list, save the time and money.

Second disclaimer: If you're not on the list and you should be (meaning you were on Reese's or posted in this thread) then I'm sorry. If you're not on the list and shouldn't be (not on Reese's haven't posted in this thread) and you want to ride one, then meet up with someone on the list.

Third and final disclaimer before posting the list: I have absolutely no authority to promulgate a 'final' or 'definitive' list of any sort, and if you get instructions from Shaun Murray that are contrary to anything I've said, then definitely go with those.

In the end, I'm just trying to help, here's the list.

I think if you get the board on Monday you should be hitting the water Monday evening. Don't hold it until the weekend. The next guy won't get it until Wednesday or Thursday. That would take almost a full year to make it through the list. The instructions Murray left with the board say no more then three days.

awesome, At 3 days a piece, I will have the board when ice is on the lake again. not to mention the next years murray will be out too. Would have been nice to get a few boards going but the idea is cool but turning out the be impractical. It would be nice to send the board north right now and we in the north can start sending it south due to weather. At this rate I will get it (the big thing being IF people have it 3 days and the next person gets it right away) in mid september If things go as they are supposed to which is stretching it bigtime. If it gets later than that, its gonna make it pretty hard to ride in MN conditions at that time of year.

Sorry Paul, not having seen the instructions, I didn't realize it said 3 days max. I agree, it should be ridden and moved as quickly as possible, and because the instructions say three days, that should be the max.

Don, I'm not sure what the big deal is, the alternative was to never have something like this offered. While you have a point that moving it to an area w/ a shorter riding season would be the logical thing to do, the chances that those in warmer climes would be agreeable to that is very limited.

I didnt say it was a big deal, but having the southern guys get it in mid summer and the northern guys get it near when the lakes freeze over doesnt seem to logical. My post did come off a bit harsh but the realization of getting it and sending it off the same day wasting MY money to ship it becuase we cant ride it here due to weather conditions anyway seems like a waste.

Like I said before, it is a great idea in theory but any good deed unplanned is a wasted deed itself. I would hate to see it happen after I pledged to take every MN rider out with this board on my boat on my dime just to spread the stoke on this opportunity. It is a real downer to see the real possibilityu to not have it realized due to poor planning.

Just wanting to know how people find the board? Does it ride big like a 142 or 143 or does it feel like a 140? the dimension on it are pretty big. I am interested as i am riding a 138 murray at the moment but am looking at either the 135 or 140?

I would love to get my hands on this board when it comes to Michigan. Anyone have any idea when this might be?

At this rate Ray, sometime in February or March 2009. Unless people are not posting when they are getting it and sending it, the last we know is the board was ridden on June 22 and has since disappeared. That's two weeks ago today.

I am just thrilled Shaun decided to do this. Even if I get it late, I will fill the cooler up with steaming hot water to thaw the ice. This is a very cool opportunity. I don't think we can complain at all. Even if things are moving slow and some of us don't get to ride it at all, we are no worse off than before.

If you are dying to ride this board right now, go to a demo day at your local board shop and get on it! Otherwise, we need to just sit back and watch as our names get closer and closer to the top......
