Im installing the stereo in my nautique and had a few questions about the set up. I currently have ready to install 2 kicker solobaric 12s and audiobahn 600 amp along with the 4 polk 6.25 already installed in the boat. I also have a pair of polk tower speakers. I know I need another amp, but im just wondering the wattage I should give to the solobarics and the tower speakers, the polks already installed have 100 watts a piece to them and they sound clear, should I bridge the deck and give them more? Im going all out on this project and need some advice, thanks guys

those polks are only rated at around 80-90 watts, so i wouldn't feed them any more than that. you could do a JL e6450 6-channel and run all the polks with that. it's only rated at 45wx6 at 4-ohms but I read a review that said it's very conservatively rated and that they actually saw over 70-watts with it. it's good clean power too. one of those could do all your polks and you could use the audiobahn for your subs. just a suggestion.

i'm taking my boat in next week to have them switch out my e4300 for one of these so i can get rid of an old soundstream and add a 250/1 for my sub.

Bruce, my g/f's car got broken into last week and the f*****s stole the head unit and subs but didn't even touch the amp. She has a 250/1 that is maybe a year or so old (looks new, as it was under the seat), that I'll be pulling out and selling if your interested.

Are the subs L5 or L7's? Thats gonna make a differance as the L7's can take more power that the L5's. Also you need to know if the subs are dual 4 or 2 ohm so you get the right amp and wire them properly. Witch Audiobahn amp do you have? The 6004t?

Sweet thanks alot bruce, ill look into the JL, as far as the subs, they are rated for 600 would 300 still produce good results?

My experience w/ audiobahn amps is that they really overate the power ( I have 2 in my boat) The specs say 300x2 RMS....my guess is you'll get 200 RMS x 2. Thsoe L7's need more IMO.

Yeah id agree about needing more for the L7's. Im gonna be running 500 rms to my L512. You could run that Audiobahn amp this way since its 2 ohm stable: 1 channel to each pair of polks wired in paralell (150watts at 2 ohms) for 75 watts to each speaker then one channel for each tower speaker for 75 watts at 4 ohms? Then get a good 2 channel amp for the subs like this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/HIFONICS-ZEUS-ZXi1006-1-2-CH-1000-WATTS-AMP-NEW_W0QQitemZ5878603312QQcategoryZ18796QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem
and use one channel for each sub, wiring them in parelell will give you 500 watts to each one. Just and idea.

thanks guys, i think I am just going to keep the existing polks the same as they are currently and get one more 400 amp to run to one sub, the other 600 i will split 400 for sub and 100 for each polk tower speaker.

I have a question. I just bought a pair of Sony XS-V6941H 6x9's to put up on my tower. 100watt rms, 400 peak. Will this put out enough volume to hear when wakeboarding? Will these do or should I get something else? Price is an issue. Thanks
