Building towerpeakers...

I bought a new Larson 228 LXI with the roswell wakeboardtower on. I am about to build a fat stereo on it with towerspeakers and all, but I have some questions.

1: When building towerspeakers, does it have to be marine speakers, cant you use ordinary carspeakers?

2: Does anyone have tips on stuff from Pioneer, I have a friend who works there so i can get good discount.

3: Does anyone mount their speakers on top of the tower, I think I will have to since the tower is so low.

These seem to be an acceptable low-budget option - polkAudio db 650 - $100/pair +/-

Any speaker that doesn't have a paper cone will work
