Curiosity gets to me. I kinda like to know what people pay to compare. Regardless of the money I know if you are serious enough to be on this website then every penny ever invested in this sport was well worth it. I paid 28,500 out the door for my 06 Supreme 220 Sp. I know mcs are way up there in price just curious where everything else is placed. post um up!

Maybe a better question would be what percent off of retail did you pay. That is were you can tell a good deal and a not so good deal reguardless of options. I would target 20% as a good deal. If you can get to 25% you have a great deal. Long story short first; MC I bought (2004 x-30, not the profile pic)_was 28% off. Awsome deal!

In Sept 05 I bought a new 04 VLX (1.9 Hours) for $35k

Included:
340HP Monsoon
Gorilla Fins
Cover for a VLX with Titan Tower (I have a Skylon)
-cover doesn't fit - oh well, garage..
Wedge
Everything else that's standard
Extreme Tandem Trailer with Swing-Away and Discs.

Did not Include:
Perfect Pass
Board Racks
Heater
Shower

I looked for a boat for close to a year, Almost bought 2 others. The deals are out there.. You have to look hard for them. This boat came up on boat trader (from a dealer) and I was the fastest to respond. I had called the dealer within an hour of posting it. I had to drive 3 hours to pick it up.

The boats I passed up (this was June of last year)
1) 01 X-Star w/99hrs $32k (missed this one) (NADA book at $35)
2) 04 MB B52 -decked out- for $41k (bad gutt feeling) (NADA Book at $58)

I honestly do not know what MB boats sell for but it seems like a wake boat with 400 hours for 39k seems expensive. Am I wrong? (no harm in telling me i am wrong, i am just looking to see what the general market in the US is like.)

Way back in the stone ages (just before the pickle 2003 X-Star), I bought a 2002 X-Star (now the X-1) for $42,000.

However, they gave me $22k for my '98 ProStar 205 (580hrs). Made it pretty painless for me.

I recieved a quote from a sanger dealer in CA so lets see if the 20% rule could be in effect. It's a private issue so I won't ask you what you paid for yours, but would appreciate some feedback.

2006 Sanger V215, wake series 1, black scorpion, tandem trailer, tower, pop up cleats. Does not include: stereo/speakers, heater, shower, PP.

Comes with a choose 3 type of deal (racks, tower speakers etc.) and a $2K in store credit.

47,000 - I realize this is an initial OTD price quote. So should I be able to get it down to 37,600 (20%) or less? It still seems kinda high for a bare bones boat.

Not trying to hijack.......I think it's related.

Thanks, B

Way to go Clint. Great looking boat and that price is crazy low.

bstroop - Ask them what the retail price is and offer them 25% off of that.

In the motorhome industry, the dealer cost is roughly 30% of the list price. In my experience the boating industry targets the same numbers. Most sale prices are around 15% off. Getting to the 20% mark and above takes a little work but can be done.

T- We were way to eager and were only about 5% under retail. I'll definitely keep the 25% in the vault for the next buy. Thanks.

Ron - I hear ya. First boat 28% off, worked the dealer with every buyer tactic i had. Second boat not so good, 16% off. My desire for the boat was greater than my desire to save money. Not a good thing, i could have and should have saved another $5k. Although, when i walk into the shop I bought my 2nd boat, they bend over backwards at everyone of my request. Not so with the first dealer.

90 Malibu- $10,400, which is probably what some people can afford on accessories alone.
