Hey fellas,

I am looking into purchasing a boat for the first time and am looking for something under 25,000, in your opinion, what boat would be best for the money, I primarily wakeboard so a big wake is the most important thing, also I would like an open bow ETC. ETC, any opinions appreciated, I live in SO. cal and there are plenty for sale, thanks

You have a few options in Vdrives now in that price range. In california there are a lot of Sanger's which are nice boats from what I here. You can probably find all the way up to a 2004 or so in that price range. There was one I was thinking about buying that was a 2004 V210 Sanger with perfectpass, huge stereo, board racks, bimini, and front ballast. The guy was asking 26. Other options you might be able to find that are older are late 90's Nautique Super Sports, late 90's MC 205V, Malibu sunsetter vlx, early 2000's Calabria Cal-Air ProV and early 2000 moomba Mobius V or LSV.

I just bought a 2000 Moomba Mobius V for 21k. It had a brand new motor, and was in good shape. It is bigger than most of the boats that I listed as well.

Behind one two weeks ago, It had 200 lbs lead in each side locker, and another 100 lbs in front bow. Produced a good wake, with some "Taps2" adjustments.

K. Smith, unless it is a rediculous deal I would search out a vdrive. The resale of direct drives has dropped significantly in the last year or 2.
