1995 Brendella Skier Brand EX Exact ?

My friend is wanting to buy this boat. It appears to be in good shape but I was wondering if it is capable of making a good wake. I have not ever delt with this kind of boat so any help would be great. It is a 19' closed bow. Thanks, Mike

Any boat will make a wake, when properly weighted. Problem is, a boat that size doesn't have a lot of room. If you use lead, which weighs a lot, you should be able to conserve. Many people have older ski nautique's. Then weight them down.

Closed bows have a great place to put a huge stereo, so that's good.

Well it doesn't have to be a great wake. It is just to get his kids out on a wakeboard. They can come out with me when the want to get thrown.

If that is what you are buying it for, I'm sure it will work perfectly. The great thing is, because it is cheap, you will have plenty of money to customize it. Make it yours.

My pal has a '91 shortline comp, looks like the same boat. It is a very solid, well built boat, drives like it is on rails and has gobs of power. It does not make a very big wake, and the wake is pretty wide. The wake is fine for kids, and you can whip them around pretty good on the tube because it will turn on a dime. It's a good first inboard. It doesn't have a ton of room or freeboard, though.

My buddy has a Brendella, same hull. It's fairly low profile and takes wakes over the bow with no weighting. It can make a little wake but not great for boarding. Watch out for rotten floorboards, especially in front of the back seat on the drivers side (where it gets wet when you turn). There are probably better options out there, I am guessing $6-7k?

I Think he was going to pay about 9000 for it. He does not want to spend to much. That seems to be about the best deal in this area. The water swamping thing scares me a bit. Lake mead can get cold evil in a matter of seconds. I don't want them to get stuck in a boat that will fill with water. Mike

Check out my profile pic, I was boarding behind the same hull with no weight when that picture was taken. The boat did have a closed bow water would sometimes crash on the nose but it never got into the boat because the winshield protected the inside. If it were not a closed bow it would be an issue IMO but with the closed bow it was not a problem. It handled great and had tons of power for that hull. Fun boat for the price! I would buy it over a newer Bayliner I/O any day of the week. I think 9K is a good price if it has under 500 hours.

My pal paid 7k, boat had rotten floors but he fixed them over the winter pretty easily. You can get some air behind that boat but you have to have some technique to do it, Attila knows the deal. Still, beats the crap out of a Bayliner for the same bucks.
