LF SHANE '08 What Size?

What size? 5'-10" 160lbs

im 5'-9" and weigh 150 and am going with the 136. Had the 132 last year and am looking to go a little bigger. So definitely the 136 or 140. If I had to guess I would say 136, but others on here should help you out.

I'm 5'11" and 180-190 depending on the time of year. I ride the 140 and it is absolutely perfect for me. I was on a 134 and it was just too small, I'd think a 140 would fit and work really well for you!

6'1" 180... Ive had the 06 shane 140 (same cut) and it definately pops a bit better than the 136. Also the landings are little softer with the larger board... but its really difficult to get this board on edge (very gradual) and I would think that getting a smaller board would fix that... its made a big difference in my riding where I would have to take a wider approach on all my tricks just cause it doesnt set its edge right away on the 140... its actually really really annoying... but its a hell of a ride once youre locked in...

I have to disagree about the larger cut and harder setup times. I have no problem taking almost no cut, it's all in HOW you edge. You put the board on edge, and if it takes a while to get on edge, that's up to the rider to compensate for with harder edging and better technique. It just takes a little adjusting, but there's no reason you should have to take a bigger cut because a board doesn't "edge right away" you just need to change it up from a board that gets on edge super quick.

The 136 is rated for up to 210lbs. I'm 160lbs and am looking at the Shane 136 or the Lyman 135 and Lyman 139.

I am 5'6 about 160lbs also. I have been riding the LF Substance 134. I like it ok, but I want something that is a little better on landings. I am also looking at the Shane 136 and Lyman 135. I know it's not that much longer from what I am riding now but maybe it will help enough.

brandon, I came from a 134 substance as well! I like d the pop of that board and wanted something a little more loosy goosy and the shane did that. It also is a lot softer landing. That's probably partly because I went longer and am bigger, but I'm loving my 140. I'd probably have been happy with a 136, but I set my size limit at 140 as I had a 142 byerly that I didn't like at all.

There aren't any center fins on the Shane. Just 2 outside fins on each end.

I'd think you could do the 136 without issues! I really like the 140 a lot, if you can ride both sizes before you buy! I ride with the cupped side fins and I don't believe the center ones are able to be removed. As I recall the center two on each end are molded. The cupped ones on the sides are removeable, but I really like them. They don't make the board too hard to break loose but really hold you in when you get on edge or if it's at all choppy.

Did they change anything on the LF Shane board this year or are the specs still the same?

Specs are still the same, been like that since 2006 I believe. In fact, I noticed that evogear.com has the 2006 Shane on sale for a great price.
