Anyone rode the new Scimitar Pivot rears on a quad board? They look pretty funky.

We used those back in Novemeber of '07. Pictures in this thread

I've always found quads are just too stiff in a 3 foot high wake with 2 foot of run. The pivots didn't provide any change in that "feel" and did slightly diminish drive in comparison to other trailers.

I wonder why they would diminish drive? Wanna sell them? I would love to try them. I really like the feel of a quad, I honestly don't know why.

I think I hacked the base off to use them as a canard fin in a twinzer. You should be able to get just the trailers if you call Futures. < drive is due to more vertical and less depth. I hear you on personal taste, if the quad is what works for you, then that's your stick.

i seem to only make a quad work with scimitar sides and 325 rears

I normally ride with 340 rears and stretch quad in the front. I want to pick up of set of these for hopefully added speed and a set of 325 rears to try out for next summer.

Are the SB3 or sidebites 1/2 box or 3/4 box? I can't seem to find that info.

3/4. For general info, on Future's fins: all rail fins are 3/4 depth and the thruster trailers are 1/2 depth. With quads, the trailers can be ordered in 1/2 or 3/4. Canards for Twinzer's or the Rusty C-5's use a special C-5 box. The longboard center fins use a separate box altogether.

Have you ever shaved 3/4 fins down to 1/2?

Yes! and it doesn't work. :-) The notch for the set screw on the 3/4's winds up being at the base of the 1/2's and so there's nothing for the set screw to grab. My incredible artistic talent :-) Quick visual of the issue.
