could the hull of my boat be damaged if I keep extra weight, such as lead in the bow while the boat is on the trailer?

Nope not if the weight of the boat is distrubuted over the bunks evenly

Not as long as it is distributed evenly like travis said, but you can damage your springs if you leave the weighted boat on there too long, your springs are only designed to hold the boat wieght plus a little extra. If you trailer alot with extra ballast your springs will start to sag and evently break(not fun) but if it is only little extra don't worry about it
