Dang, next time there are free energy drinks....steer me clear. Heart's still thumping. Woke up once saying 'earthquake!!!!' and another because of some quick-reproducing, buzzing, flying, armored insects that were chasing us around in my dreams. Whew. Glad it's time to go to work ;-)

Couple times it looked like the riders were gonna either come out of the tank on the audience side or run into the wall on the far side of the tank. Cool when that one dude ran down with a jacket on an stayed dry. We left after the Brian from Havasu rode.

Joe, you know everybody around here - who was there last night? Roll call, if you'd be so kind. Recognized Parks and Ricky G and Ricky G's better half, but that was it. The announcer had a Wakeworld t-shirt on...

It was tons of fun. Definitely props to CCC and Greenhouse, hands down one of the coolest shops I've been to. The turnout was awesome!
Old     (antbug)      Join Date: Jul 2004       07-18-2005, 8:39 AM Reply
Derek, I know you asked Joe but here are a few...

Keith Lidberg (1st place winner $3000)
Jared Eygabroad (2nd place winner $1500)
Tyler Killingsworth (3rd place winner $500)
Kyle Murphy
Cody (forgot his last name)
you know about Ricky and Parks
Melissa Marquet
a few others that I can't remember right now

The cool guy in the Wakeworld t-shirt was Steve Bates (CWB rep for the South West)

I got some great shots that I will try to post soon. Thanks to CCC and green house ride shop for putting together an AWESOME event.
Old     (mikel)      Join Date: Nov 2004       07-18-2005, 8:39 AM Reply
Announcer was Steve Bates from CWB. Kyle Murphy rode, Jimmy Wolf, Tyler Killingsworth, Cody Hall, Melissa, Nick Ennen (I think), Brian Francis. I know I left people out.

Very cool event. I know that they got a much better turnout than expected and the fire marshal was giving them crap. Well run and well planned, especially for a first time event like this.

Hope they do it again.

(if you read these forums) it was very nice to meet you yesterday and thank you for being so helpful. joe and i both walked away saying, "omg, he's gotta be one of the nicest people we've met in the industry!" i will be sure to pass that on to those who are looking for a shop to hit up! GO SEE RON!

Frankie ~ ya I remember you telling me to check out Cody's hawt girlfriend, somehow I don't remember me saying that. I was just agreeing with you. Now I do remember trying to talk Cody into signing Joe's ass. hahahahaha

addressed to the being that is holding my buddy bug captive,
1. please release bug.
2. you're doing a terrible job of pretending to be him... no one is going to believe that he didn't notice a beautiful girl like cody hall's gf. and there's no way that the bug i know would not notice gretchen as she walked right by him and smiled at him.

*Yawn....
Just waking up.
Event was epic. Much thanks to the Correct Craft crew for an event that will change the So-Cal wake scene forever. Also a big thumbs up to Cal Trans for narrowing the 10 to one lane at midnight making my two hour drive a nice three hour drive.
I love So-Cal.
As soon as we passed out the green to the boys, Wade was already planning the pool configuration for Oasis 06.
Be afraid.

The first annual Blacktop Oasis Rail Jam set the scene with many of the top pros like Parks, Gonzales, Lidberg, Francis, Killingsworth, Eygabroad, Wolf, and others battling it out for $3000 in cold hard cash. Check out the video by Joe Umali and Photos by AntBug.

haha sshhhh not everyone knows he fell in the pool 3 times and no one knows about me falling either *DUH*.

I was worried that he got hurt so I was a good friend and didn't take a pic. Next time I may have to get a quick snap shot and then help him.
