Living in Las Vegas my boat cover gets really dusty. I've got a sunbrella type cover.

My question is, has anyone put their cover in an industrial washer with cold water and mild detergent? I have access to a washer and am curious if this would work. I would plan on drying it on the boat.

Any feedback???

I usually use a soft brush and mild detergent. Hose it off and hang it on the fence to dry. A friend has a funny way of cleaning his- he throws it into his spa, tosses in some detergent and turn it on for a while....works.. If the large washer is big enough it should work

Sunbrella says you can use a washine machine with the right detergent. Never use a dryer, though. See their full recommendations here.

Last time I cleaned mine, I just took it to my dry cleaner. $25 and it came back folded and wrapped in a plastic bag. Look around, I'm sure you could find one.

Just this past weekend I washed my boat cover... I have a heavy duty washing machine... I just threw it in there with about half the normal detergent for a load, set it on delicate and washed it once, then a second time with no soap to get it all washed out... Then I laid it out on the driveway to dry... Seems to be clean and worked great! The only trouble might be getting it to fit into your washer if your cover is bulky...
