Anyone ever try the Gary Fong flash diffusers ?

No, but I get good results with a stofen. I've heard mixed reviews of the gary fong. Most say it's way overpriced for the results. But some love it. I think it boils down personal preference, and some people don't care for the look the diffusers create

I have a knock off lightsphere.....It was the best money ever spent!!!

here is the link to the knock off.....http://cgi.ebay.com/Lambency-Soft-Flash-Diffuser-for-Nikon-SB-800-SB800_W0QQitemZ310011260048QQihZ021QQcategoryZ4851 5QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Next to the Fong, you can't tell the difference. The same seller also has "expodisc" knock offs for 10 bucks.

The only draw black to fong is the big size, otherwise I use it with all portraits.

I've got one of the "FONG BONGS", I found it to be quite a bit better then the Stofen's, especially when you don't have a white ceiling to point it at. I agree with Rich about it's size, it's hard to carry around.

I have had the stofen, the Fong Dome, and now use a joe demb flip it. I like the flip-it the best.

What about the one (don't remember the name) where there is instructions about how to make your own out of white foam? It just velcros on the flash similar to the flip it and is supposed to have very good results.

You don't look very cool using it but it's only like 5 bucks to make one.

Day late...I have one. It's OK but really don't use the flash much so it kind of sits.

We've got the Gary Fong Whale Tail (model: Reporter) and it works great! The ability to adjust the flaps makes a noticeable difference and allows you to tailor the light to the situation.

The Studio model is HUGE!

I've only taken a couple shots with the lightsphere but it seems to work well.
