Last time at Crescent Bar when I was pulling up the very steep, very windy road to leave I was passed going the other direction by a lifted two door jeep pulling a 08 or newer X-star. I couldn't believe it, those that know that road know that if he got waggling even a little he'd be in some very serious trouble.

That guy lives in Sunserra. I'm pretty sure its the 4-door rubicon and if I recall correctly, someone told me that it has a v-8. In that little town, It's probably alright towing in the 1 mile radius..
It looked crazy though watching him pull it out of the water without any problem

Volvo XC90 has a towing capacity of 3300 regardless of what engine is in it. That is pretty bad that they were towing an X-Star.

GM has determined that the towing capacity of the HHR with an automatic
transmission to be 454 kg (1000 lb). This rating keeps the HHR
consistent with the majority of GM passenger cars which have a trailer
towing capacity of 454 kg (1000 lb). Towing a trailer with an HHR with
a standard transmission is not recommended. This is also consistent
with the towing recommendations for GM passenger cars.

Ha Ha I've seen Michael Hunter catch some fish with those HHR pictures in other "towing" threads. Works every time!

I'll never forget being at a lake outside Visalia CA and seeing a wake setter being towed up a steep ramp by a single cab 90's toyota tacoma. The guy said he uses 4 LOW. But damn. I told him I bet stopping is fun.

Heck I am concerned a bit about my setup.
2007 F150 Supercrew 4x4 towing an 07 X-45.
Supposedly as best I can tell since I have the optional 4.10 gears the towing capacity is supposed to be 9200 lbs but a steep hill you can feel it straining.

@ Matt, I'd swear it was a two door and you're right pulling it around town no biggie but up and down that hill es no bueno! I was just talking with my buddy that has a place in Sunserra and it didn't ring a bell with him and he's there 20-25 times a summer. Side note those 4 door Rubicons with the Hemi conversion are bad azz. I do doubt however that it changes the tow capacity, I believe that is limited by the tongue weight and brakes.

Ahh, Good point about the tongue weight capacity. My folks have a place there. I tow my 5500lb Calabria with my FJ cruiser all the time around there...

That setup doesn't look mismatched weight or pulling wise at all. Maybe it is weird to see the camaro pulling but a fast car with a fast boat makes since. That boat probably only weighs 1500 pounds total if not less. The hull is probably 500 or something dry. The motor looks kind of like a 300X or XS I think. That boat has to be close to triple digits with that kind of power.

@Matt, I have another buddy that has a place over there with a Calabria too. I'd bet you've seen him, he has a red 07 Calabria, he's there virtually every weekend always post up on the sand bar.
